Branded a madman and locked away in the House of Quiet Rest, he finds six others the world has thrown away: a child soldier who won’t let anyone protect her, an old veteran who freezes at loud noises, a noblewoman who reads people like books, a beastkin girl who stopped speaking, a priest who lost his faith to a drug, and a boy who’s terrified of his own fire.
