However, empathy does not mean he will assist everyone or forgive unforgivable actions simply because he understands his enemy's plight. This is not a story where the protagonist views events in black and white. If you seek a novel with a purely self-serving hero, this may not be the right choice for you. While I consider myself still learning, I am inspired by authors like George R. R. Martin, who taught me the complexity of moral dilemmas and the nuanced spectrum of right and wrong. I aimed to create authentic characters with distinct personalities, pasts, and characteristics that influence their reactions to events in the story. This applies to the main character and the supporting cast. Romance may or may not develop between characters in the novel.
