Accel World: Beyond the burst

“Haru-chan.” …Haru? HARU? The chubby kid from that poster he saw once on MyAnimeList?! Before the panic properly sets in, a notification pops into his tiny, horrified brain: [ SYSTEM ACTIVATED] Congratulations! You have been reincarnated into… accel world, a world you know absolutely nothing about! Complete tasks to receive random gifts! Random. Gifts. Not useful gifts. Not logical gifts. RANDOM gifts. [Task: Don’t cry for 30 seconds] Reward: Slightly Above Average Patience] [Task: Don’t fall when standing up] Reward: A sticker] A STICKER. Not chakra, not magic, not a Sacred Gear. A STICKER. Haru quickly realizes he has reincarnated into an anime world he only recognized because of the name He doesn’t know the plot. He doesn’t know who’s dangerous. He doesn’t even know the genre. Is this sci-fi? Is it action? Is it slice-of-life? Is he supposed to fight people? Hack computers? Lose weight? Gain weight? Make friends? Who knows? Certainly not him. But as he grows up as Haruyuki Arita, the system keeps giving him tasks that are sometimes helpful, sometimes emotional… and sometimes: [Task: Stop eating cake for one whole day] Reward: +1 Self-Control / -10 Happiness] Now trapped in a life where the biggest enemy might be his own BMI, Haru must navigate childhood, bullies, friendships, and the mysterious digital evolution happening around him, completely blind and armed only with a system that thinks giving him “slightly improved reflexes” is equivalent to granting immortality. And maybe, just maybe, he’ll discover that even if he didn’t get reincarnated into a world full of anime oppai, ninjas, or power levels, this life might still be worth living. Assuming he survives middle school. (A/N:I don’t own Accel world, all rights belong to their original creators.) Havent seen much Accel World Fics here, so i decided to create one (Disclaimer: This fanfic is set in an alternate universe based on Accel World. While it features the original characters, certain events, abilities, and background details may differ from the official light novel. These changes are intentional for the purposes of this story.) (will probably make this into a shared anime universe if i feel it needs a little bit of spice)
