RWBY: The Wandering Harbinger
Orion never expected to die.
He never expected to awaken in a strange white void either.
And he certainly never expected to be handed the power, memories, and abilities of a Heroic Spirit.
When his soul was pulled into a place beyond life and death, Orion was given a choice. Accept a contract and become a Heroic Spirit known as a Pretender, or fade away into nothingness.
His answer was obvious.
The moment he accepted, the legend engraved upon his Saint Graph became that of a warrior who sought battle above all else—a man known by countless names.
Childe.
Tartaglia.
The Eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers.
Armed with a Vision, a Delusion, mastery over countless weapons, and the terrifying power of the Foul Legacy, Orion is summoned into the world of Remnant.
A young Yang Xiao Long has dragged her little sister Ruby deep into the forest searching for clues about their missing mother, Raven Branwen. Instead, the sisters find themselves trapped inside an abandoned building surrounded by dangerous Grimm.
With no Huntsmen nearby and no hope of escape, the situation should have ended in tragedy.
Then a blue spear pierces through the darkness.
The Grimms are annihilated in seconds.
And standing among the fading corpses is a young man with unruly orange hair and a carefree smile.
"Hey now," he says, twirling a hydro blade in his hand. "Picking fights with monsters at your age? That's pretty impressive."
Unlike normal Heroic Spirits, Orion quickly discovers something impossible.
He isn't fading.
He doesn't require a Master.
He can eat, sleep, bleed, and grow stronger.
For all intents and purposes, he is alive.
A Heroic Spirit walking Remnant in a human body.
Now, with no way home and an entire world before him, Orion decides to do the only thing that feels right.
Travel.
Fight.
Grow stronger.
And seek out opponents worthy of challenging him.
From Patch to Vale, from Mistral to Atlas, tales begin spreading of a mysterious wandering warrior who appears wherever people are in danger. A Huntsman with powers unlike Aura. A hero who laughs in the face of impossible odds and charges headfirst into battles that should kill him.
Some call him a protector.
Others call him insane.
Orion doesn't particularly care.
After all, a warrior's life is meant to be exciting.
But beneath the freedom of his new life lies a hidden truth.
The Pretender Class exists to embody falsehoods.
And the legend Orion inherited may not belong to him alone.
As ancient powers stir, Salem's forces move from the shadows, and the secrets of his summoning slowly unravel and how he was summoned.
Something or someone may have intentionally placed that legend upon him.
And whatever orchestrated his arrival is still watching.
A wandering hero.
A battle-loving Heroic Spirit.
A Pretender carrying the legend of the Fatui's deadliest Harbinger.
