Nowhere safe
For eighteen years, the Georgia wildlife refuge was Raven’s cage. While other girls her age were planning futures, she was knee-deep in wolf pens and bear enclosures, resentful of the fences that kept her, and the predators she tended—sequestered from the world. She wanted out. She wanted a life that didn’t smell like cedar chips and raw meat.
Then the Hydra virus hit, and the world Raven craved began to bleed out.
When the fever takes hold of her father, the isolation she once hated becomes her only hope. But a desperate supply run into town reveals a terrifying truth: the "civilized" world has vanished. In its place is a landscape of lawless shadows where the only rule is survival.
Returning to the refuge, Raven realizes the irony of her new reality. The electrified fences that once felt like prison bars are now the only thing keeping the collapse at bay. But the power is flickering, the animals are sensing the fear, and a ruthless gang has followed her scent back to the gates.
