Kai Ren grew up an orphan in the lower districts of Neo Arcadia. He’s calm, analytical, and has a knack for surviving things that should have killed him. At seventeen, he enters the Abyss expecting a week of nightmares. Instead, he uncovers a secret that’s been buried for three hundred years. The Abyss isn’t another dimension. It’s a machine, known as the Architects' Sin, created by a civilization that sacrificed millions of teenagers over centuries to power a barrier against the Unmaking—a cosmic force that erases order from existence. The machine does its job. The barrier stands. But the price has been three hundred years of lost lives. Kai holds the only key to breaking the cycle. To use it, he must make his way through an academy built on lies, face a system designed to keep the truth hidden, and confront a power inside himself that defies any known classification.
