Bennett, a college student who spends more time at Renaissance faires than at home, is better prepared than most participants when he finds himself trapped inside a simulation that expects him to role-play his way through a series of death games.
Conversely, Chase took all of his four-round head start within that same simulation to adjust. This one-year-younger punk, with more than his fair share of piercings and tattoos, could only cope thanks to his athletic physique honed through years of gymnastics, track and field, and… pole dancing?
Despite their initial disputes, they team up and slowly grow closer as they struggle through the Purgarion System’s plots full of eldritch horrors, historical inaccuracies, and, the greatest challenge of all, awkward social situations.
