Making Game in Another World
Game planner Lorne dies from overwork (a 996 lifestyle) and is reincarnated as the great Demon King of a dungeon in a Western fantasy world.
Once upon a time, this dungeon was legendary. Countless heroes met their end within its walls, and the demonic beasts grew rich just by fleecing them for their gear.
But in Lorne’s era… Lord Demon King, the times have changed!
Swords and magic have faded from history, while the Industrial Revolution is in full swing.
Young humans would rather tighten screws in a factory than pick up a sword to become a hero.
The dungeon is deserted, the demonic beasts can’t fleece any heroes, and they’re all dirt-poor.
Faced with a crowd of demonic beasts crying, “Lord Demon King, we’re starving!”, Lorne has no choice but to return to his old profession.
He holds a staff meeting and delivers an important speech: “Colleagues, our company has hit a developmental bottleneck. The old business model no longer meets market expectations. We must leverage our existing resources to empower and upgrade our products, connect the industry ecosystem, and create a closed business loop…”
The demonic beasts are baffled: “Lord Demon King, what does any of that mean?”
The new Demon King translates: “This dungeon is going under, so we’re going to start making something no one in this world has ever seen—games! You are all the founding members of this company, and it’s time to contribute your skills! The thousand-year-old skeleton will write the scripts, the siren will compose the music, the abyss succubus will handle marketing, and all you slimes are going to learn 3D modeling! We will conquer this world with games!”
Soon after, a company named “Dungeon Entertainment” bursts onto the scene, launching an astonishing new product—”Magic Games.”
