The next day arrived.
A small farewell ceremony was held as Davis, Evelynn, Viridia, and a few others gathered to see Azariel, Fairy Elma, Gralex, and the others off. It was not an extravagant affair, but there was a certain warmth to the gathering as everyone came together to bid them a silent farewell before their departure from the sanctuary and the Golden Radiance Continent.
"Come back soon, my son~"
Evelynn held Azariel's hands, her expression carrying a gentle smile despite the reluctance evident in her eyes.
"I will, Mother."
Azariel smiled back, nodding reassuringly.
He had already said his goodbyes to everyone, but Evelynn seemed to have a particularly difficult time letting him go. She continued to fuss over him, reminding him of this and that, much to Davis's amusement. However, she held herself together until Azariel finally departed.
Only then did she begin to cry.
