"Is everyone fully packed up?" Mr. Leo asked as everyone started to gather their belongings and supplies.

"Yep. We are good to go. All of us are armed too."

Mrs. Haruna expressed her fear and doubt of the plan. "Is this even a viable plan? I fear that those zombies will crowd the whole bus. I can't just push the job of defending us adults on children."

"We have no choice. I don't know if there is even a rescue operation happening, but we are not important enough for the government to deploy a bunch of soldiers to help us out. And as much as I want to help out with the defense, I can't just leave Nejima to be the one who will repair the bus. I have a bit of car knowledge, so I will also assist to have the process move faster, and we can leave much earlier than needed to be."

Souichi adjusted his glasses as he calmed Mrs. Haruna. "Don't worry, Mrs. Haruna. Although we are still not that reliable, we won't let any zombies come close, and we will be able to escape the school safe and sound."

Kyosei remained quiet, just observing the group. He didn't voice out his concerns or anything. He is silently keeping his thoughts all to himself.

"Alright. Let's go. We can't afford to waste too much time."

And so, the group decided to descend the Clocktower in the hopes that the bus will allow them to escape the school that turned into a hellhole.

Day: 2

Location: Kirishima High -Ground Floor

Time: 10:27 A.M

Remaining time before Night: 7 hours and 33 minutes left

Thanks to Kyosei, who preemptively cleared the way down to the ground floor, the group didn't have a single zombie encounter on their way to the ground floor.

"I must say, you did a good job clearing the zombies here, Kyosei. That made our descent faster and way easier than expected."

"With all of the zombies blocking my way earlier, why would I risk my life further if I can just eliminate any of them before they can cause potential trouble later? It is much easier for me to deal with them much earlier than make them my problem when things take a rough turn."

Miyuki quickly corrected Kyosei's words. "He meant that it would be far easier to return without any enemies to fight with, so he decided to defeat them in advance. That's what he meant!"

Kyosei frowned at Miyuki while the latter gestured to him to just zip his mouth.

Mr. Leo chuckled at the words of the two. "I understand his point, Miyuki. No need to actually do that translation thing."

The group continued to move, and since Kyosei found the bus, he led the group to the parking lot.

Unlike their descent to the ground floor, the parking lot had a few walkers up ahead that are walking near the bus. Perhaps because Kyosei tried the key earlier, the zombies got attracted to the bus and are now walking around it.

"I will go deal with them, stay put, everyone." Kyosei grabbed the crowbar and quickly moved around the cars. Before the nearest zombie could even notice Kyosei, a crowbar swung directly to the head of the zombie, causing the head to explode into pieces.

Kyosei didn't slow down even with that and just continued to the next zombie.

"Holy cow...I know he is called the Devil and he is rumored to have beaten up a lot of people, but wouldn't the right nickname he should have be the "executioner?" He is dealing with those zombies very quickly..." Okabe wasn't expecting to see how Kyosei dealt with all of them like nothing.

"Right? Even with my experience in martial arts, I can't just combine those and eliminate zombies like they are nothing. He is like a killing machine even with a blunt weapon," Souichi agreed with the sentiments of Okabe.

"Guys, isn't it wrong to say something bad to someone behind their back? And besides, Kyosei is helping us. Shouldn't we be grateful that Kyosei is dealing with the problem like this? The fewer zombies around, the fewer issues we have for later," Miyuki frowned as she defended Kyosei.

"They are not wrong. And I am not mad that they are calling me that. I prefer that to being called a Devil instead," Kyosei returned as he flicked away the blood from the crowbar.

He then pointed to the bus. "Area's clear. You guys know what to do."

Nejima nodded as he rushed towards the bus with the toolbox found in the clocktower. Mr. Leo followed close behind.

"The others who are non-combatants should head to the bus first. At the very least, it would be much safer without the need to be exposed to the zombies. It would be much easier for the combatants to keep the perimeter safe without worrying about the others as well," Miyuki suggested.

"I think that would be for the best. It's not a good idea to keep Mrs. Haruna stressed, especially since she is pregnant."

"I'm sorry if I am a burden, kids," Mrs. Haruna expressed her guilt.

Mrs. Haruna felt embarrassed and felt like she was a useless burden due to her pregnancy since she could not fight and had not contributed anything to the group. However, Kyosei quietly helped Mrs. Haruna to the bus.

"Don't feel guilty just because you are pregnant. As if you wished for this to happen in the first place."

Mrs. Haruna was surprised by the sudden words that her student whispered. After all, she already knows that Kyosei is the troublemaker of the school and their most famous delinquent due to the rumors floating around him. And yet, he doesn't seem to be the same as those rumors that he is very ruthless.

Most of the girls, including Miyuki, entered the bus. Although Miyuki is confident in fighting, she doesn't have any weapon that she specializes in; she decided to just sit out the defense and just leave it to the boys. Nanami didn't fully get inside the bus and instead started to tinker on her laptop, typing fast.

"What are you doing, Sis?" Souichi asked, seeing his younger sister busy with her laptop.

"What else? I am hijacking the security cameras nearby to serve as our extra pair of eyes. It's better to have a wide coverage of sight rather than being limited to the combatants. There, got it."

Souichi scratched his head in amazement. Was Nanami always this capable at hacking? Did she purposely hide her capabilities since it is illegal to perform hacking back when the world still functioned normally?

Chie seemed to be more eager to join the boys on their task to defend the bus. Compared to her initial weapon when Kyosei found her, she is now wielding the kitchen knife that is among the tools that Kyosei and Souichi scavenged from the cafeteria.

"Eh? Wouldn't it be safer for you to be inside the bus? I thought you wanted to research something related to the zombies?" Okabe asked, seeing Chie standing guard with him.

"I did. But, I also have a bit of curiosity that I wanted some answers to, to be honest. So I will join to see how it goes."

Kyosei, on the side, gave Okabe a tap on the shoulder. "Do something if she does something crazy. Can't trust her to suddenly go fascinated by a zombie while there are multiple more in the distance."

Okabe, who is not used to Kyosei suddenly talking to him, made a quick nod while still nervous around him.

Nejima and Mr. Leo started their work. They are doing the best they can with the problem that the bus has. While the others stood watch for any zombies, the two worked tirelessly on the bus.

During the first few minutes, the surroundings were quiet, and not a single zombie was in sight. Maybe because Kyosei already done the first clean-up earlier, the situation had been fully controlled.

But the peace didn't last long.

The repairs are going well, and the two are already changing the oil in the oil tank by discharging the old one. During that time, a few zombies started to wander nearby.

"Zombies, get your asses ready," Kyosei is the first to respond to the zombies appearing and immediately dispatched them.

That didn't stop there. A few more appeared around the area where Okabe and Chie are standing guard.

"More zombies here. Okay, calm down. You have done this before," Okabe tried to calm himself.

"Finally! Some live samples decided to approach voluntarily!"

"Please be careful, Ms. Chie!" Okabe was worried.

"Of course!" Chie grinned like a crazed scientist.

Nanami used the security camera to manipulate the nearby camera to check the area and almost cursed. Souichi noticed this.

"Something happened?" Souichi asked, seeing his younger sister disturbed by what she had seen.

"There's a horde coming. More than a dozen of them."

Souichi looked at the screen, and his blood seemed to almost drain from his face after seeing the number of zombies shambling towards their direction.

"Kyosei! We are facing a horde! Everyone, be careful!" Souichi warned.

"How many?" Kyosei asked as he finished off one of the zombies.

This made Kyosei frown as he glanced in the direction the zombies were coming from. It came from the open field where the majority of the zombies were gathered earlier.

As if on cue, broken glass started to fall from above as well.

"What the?!" Okabe was surprised as the nearby glass window fell and shattered not too far from them.

On the windows were countless zombies from the classrooms and hallways that Kyosei didn't use when descending to the ground.

"Even the zombies in the buildings?!" Cindy, who was observing outside, felt terror seeing the countless mindless flesh-eating zombies eyeing them and actively destroying the windows that stopped them from going outside.

As for those zombies who managed to successfully destroy the windows, they didn't hesitate to jump out.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

The zombies basically started killing themselves by jumping from the windows in an attempt to reach them. It would have been great if all of them perished like that, but it didn't take too long for a pile of them to form. This made the newer zombies who fell get cushioned by the old zombies who perished first after falling to their deaths.

"Mr. Leo, are the repairs done?" Kyosei asked.

"We are almost done, but not yet!"

Kyosei clicked his tongue in frustration and brandished the crowbar.

"Hold the line! Don't let a single zombie come close!"
