After three more hours of listening to lectures, arguably the dullest experience of my entire stay on Earth, I nearly jumped out of my seat the moment the final teacher dismissed us.
Finally.
Freedom.
A quiet laugh escaped from Tristan, and I glanced at him, slightly confused.
"Stop staring at her, or she might melt," another boy teased.
I lifted my chin just slightly.
Well… they weren't wrong.
If anything, they should stare more. Moments like this are rare, especially when you're in the presence of someone destined to become a goddess.
—
"Rrrrrriiiinnnggggggg."
Classes are over.
At last.
I walked toward Kira and Hailey, who, as usual, froze for a second the moment I approached them. Honestly, getting used to perfection takes time.
"Now," I said, "tell me where the Head Council office is."
"Okay! We'll take you there," Kira replied quickly.
Hailey gathered her things and led the way.
—
But the moment we stepped outside the classroom...
Chaos.
The hallway was packed.
Students everywhere.
Phones raised. Eyes wide. Voices calling my name.
"Celestine!"
"Over here!"
"Just one picture!"
Hailey tried to clear a path.
"Please move! Give her space!"
But no one listened.
Of course they didn't.
I simply smiled and waved, effortlessly maintaining my composure.
"I didn't expect it to be this intense…" Kira muttered.
"They were probably waiting for dismissal," Hailey said, still trying to figure out a way through.
The crowd pressed closer.
Some were calling out. Others just stared, completely captivated.
I can't blame them.
Even I get mesmerized sometimes.
My long black hair falls in perfect waves. My eyes sharp, alluring, framed by naturally curled lashes. My nose, defined. My lips, soft pink.
My skin? Flawless.
My figure? Perfectly balanced.
Well… of course it is.
I am the daughter of the Goddess of Beauty.
—
"This way."
A firm voice cut through the noise.
We all turned.
A tall student, wearing a black armband with a gold crest-stood beside us. His expression was calm, authoritative.
"The council sent me," he added.
Without waiting for a response, he stepped forward.
And just like that...
The crowd parted.
Not completely, but enough.
Students moved aside, whispering as we passed.
"Is that… council security?"
"Wow…"
We followed him through the hallway, past staircases, and into a quieter wing of the building, one far removed from the chaos.
The air felt different here.
Heavier.
More… controlled.
—
Finally, we stopped.
In front of massive double doors.
Gold-lined.
Intricately carved.
The emblem of the Head Council gleamed at the center.
I raised a brow.
So, this is it.
The doors opened.
—
The moment I stepped inside...
Even I paused.
The office was… enormous.
Not just big but grand.
High ceilings stretched above us, adorned with crystal chandeliers. Sunlight poured through tall glass windows, casting gold across polished marble floors.
Long tables. Velvet seats. Walls lined with crests, portraits, and records of power.
Everything about the room screamed authority.
Control.
Hierarchy.
—
So this is where they run everything.
—
I stepped forward.
Confident.
Composed...
—
"...So you finally arrived."
A voice.
Low. Calm. familiar.
—
My steps stopped.
—
From the far end of the room
A figure emerged from the light.
—
And for the first time since arriving on Earth…
I was speechless.
—
He stood there tall, composed, his presence… overwhelming.
Not loud.
Not flashy.
But undeniable.
My chest tightened.
—
…What?
—
In that single moment...
I understood something I didn't want to admit.
—
This…
wasn't going to be a one-day stay.
