Nowadays, when they go fishing, that's basically where they head. The catches aren't many, but they always manage to get something. As for fishing in the mountains, that feels like a distant memory. The spot was exposed by a few teenagers, and soon, people swarmed the area like ants. Within about a week, the pond was emptied of fish.
With so many people trying to get a catch, the pond was quickly depleted.
If only they had let the area rest and recover, it wouldn't have come to this.
But with so many people and no one wanting to leave empty-handed, the outcome was inevitable.
If it's to recover, it might take a long time.
Their family hasn't gone up the mountain for about a month. To be honest, if it weren't for knowing there was a pond up there, they wouldn't bother going so far just to pick some fruits or dig for wild vegetables.
Luckily, they have a good supply of salted fish, enough to last through the winter with some left over.
