When Zhuang Zhixi returned, Ming Mei was already asleep. He knocked gently on the door, and Ming Mei woke up groggily, slipping on her slippers to open the door. She mumbled, "What time is it?"
Zhuang Zhixi replied, "It's eleven."
He closed the door behind him, quickly washed up, and got back into bed. Ming Mei immediately snuggled up to him, wrapping herself around him like an octopus. Zhuang Zhixi chuckled softly and patted her back, saying, "Sorry for waking you up."
Ming Mei pinched his waist, and Zhuang Zhixi yelped, "Ouch!"
Still half-asleep, Ming Mei cooed softly, "Why are you apologizing? Are you silly?"
Zhuang Zhixi laughed quietly, "I just thought it'd be polite to apologize sincerely."
Ming Mei, her eyes still closed, mumbled, "How are things at the police station?"
Zhuang Zhixi answered, "They've all been sent to the hospital. Those people are really reckless, completely disregarding the police and even starting a fight right in the station."
