The more she boasted, the harder it was to listen.
Ming Mei said, "Anyway, I can't chat anymore. I need to go to the HR department."
"Why?"
Ming Mei replied, "I need to pass a message to Guan Guiling..."
As luck would have it, Ming Mei ran into Guan Guiling at HR just as she was leaving with her reference letter. Ming Mei called out, "Guan Guiling!"
They worked in different departments, and Guan Guiling had joined later, so they weren't close. They usually just nodded when they saw each other. Ming Mei stopping her was a surprise.
"Is something wrong?"
Ming Mei nodded, "I live in Xinghua Lane, in the same compound as Bai Fendou."
Guan Guiling nodded. She knew that. After all, who at the bus station didn't know Ming Mei?
"This morning, Bai Fendou got into a fight and was hit on the head. He passed out and was taken to the hospital. I thought I should let you know."
She didn't want Guan Guiling to be left waiting at the civil affairs office.
