Even though their trip to Changchun was just a few days ago, it felt like a distant memory now.
Ming Xiangdong drove off to deliver the goods, while Zhuang Zhixi and Ming Cheng got out with their luggage. Zhuang Zhixi called out, "Honey, I'm home!"
It was evening, and Ming Mei had already returned from work. She was washing clothes in the yard when she heard Zhuang Zhixi's voice. She paused for a moment, then rushed outside, calling, "Zhixi!"
She threw herself into Zhuang Zhixi's arms, and he happily hugged her back. "Did you miss me?"
Ming Mei nodded without hesitation. "Of course I did. How are you? You've lost weight."
Zhuang Zhixi replied, "Yeah, we were in a hurry to get back. We didn't eat or sleep well, but thinking about seeing you made it all worth it."
Ming Mei smiled brightly.
She said softly, "You've worked so hard."
Then she turned to Ming Cheng. "Brother, come in and rest."
