Ye Mo's Soul Cultivation was only at Soul Skill Second Level. Even if he unleashed the Soul Devil Thunder, he still wouldn't be able to withstand the opponent's spiritual attacks. The only advantage of Ye Mo's Perfect Soul Body was its toughness, allowing him to unleash Soul Techniques multiple times without causing his Soul Sea to dry up.
For ordinary Martial Artists, being able to unleash one or two Soul Techniques in a short period was already good enough. Once they unleashed them and their Soul Sea was exhausted, even if someone whose Soul Cultivation was lower than theirs released a Soul Technique and hit their Soul Sea, they could still be killed.
This was one of the reasons Martial Artists would not lightly use Soul Techniques.
Of course, there were also two special situations.
