Chapter 2 - ACCIDENT

11Jan 201X

"RING! RING! RING!"

The alarm on Peppy's phone jolted her awake. Still half-asleep, she reached under her pillow, grabbed her phone, and snoozed the alarm for another ten minutes.

Ten minutes later, the alarm rang loudly in her ears again, leaving her with no choice but to get up and prepare for class. She rubbed her eyes and stared at the ceiling for another ten minutes before finally dragging her tired body to the washroom to freshen up. She brushed her teeth and took a shower.

She stepped out of the bathroom naked and opened the small brown cupboard to take out her bra and underwear. After that, she moved to the grey cupboard beside it and began searching for clothes to wear for the day. After nearly thirty minutes of tossing clothes out of the cupboard, she finally settled on an oversized purple T-shirt with a small eagle logo on the right side and a pair of light blue ripped jeans. She also packed a black oversized jacket into her white We Bare Bears tote bag in case it got cold at night.

Once she had packed everything she needed for class, she slipped on her white Fila shoes and headed out. Little did she know that today would be the day she got into a car accident on her way to school and transmigrated into another world.

She stepped out of the lift, planning to buy some bread before heading to school since she needed to stay there until 10 p.m. to study for her upcoming February exams. However, the bakery was quite far from her apartment—about a 15 to 20-minute bus ride away, or nearly 40 minutes on foot. Deciding it would be faster, she chose to take the bus.

After waiting for about five minutes, the bus finally arrived. She picked a seat near the exit and pulled out a Chinese novel from her tote bag to read during the ride.

A while later, she looked up and realized they were approaching her stop. She placed the book back into her tote bag and took out her bus card, preparing to tap out.

"Ding dong."

After pressing the bell, she got off the bus. The bus stop was directly opposite the bakery, so she needed to cross the road. While she was halfway across, a red Mini Cooper suddenly sped toward her and slammed into her without warning.

Peppy was thrown nearly ten meters away. Blood streamed from her head as her vision faded, and within seconds, she lost consciousness.
