Sona took the lead as they made their way to the elevator. He wanted to show Deltune that he could be reliable. He studied the route they took and burned this information into his mind. They took the elevator down and left through the door they entered. "If I remember correctly, the mall should be on the opposite end of campus," Deltune finally broke the silence when they were back outside. "It will take us about fifteen minutes to get there," She continued as she started walking beside Sona.
"I've been meaning to ask you, Del, how do you so much about this world? It seems like you understand a great deal about how this place operates," Sona asked curiously and looked over to Deltune. She looked down at the ground for a moment and sighed softly.
"This is my world. My Father created this world Parallel to your world. It is difficult to retain a high population because the world is so dangerous. That's why Goddess's like me scour your world for the deceased. We offer them reincarnation in order to try and maintain the population," Deltune whispered softly, ashamed she had kept this hidden from Sona.
"It's okay, Del," Sona spoke softly, trying to sooth her guilt. He reached his hand out slowly and grabbed her tiny hand. "That information wasn't necassary so I understand why you didn't tell me. It wasn't something that would help me adjust to this life. I just wondered how you know so much," He gave her hand a gentle squeeze before letting it return to her side. She smiled softly and nodded at Sona's words. While they did help her a bit, she still felt down. 'I know what I can do for her.' He thought to himself and made a promise to improve quickly. He needed to start taking on bounties so he could do something for Deltune. What would cheer her up, though? That would take some time to decipher.
"Come on, Sona. We are wasting daylight," Deltune said and walked behind Sona. She started pushing him forward and Sona started laughing. "That's better, Sona. Let's just keep moving forward together," She walked over to his right side and stayed beside him. "What's your style? What kinds of clothes do you enjoy? If we start thinking now it shouldn't take long to find something you like," She asked trying to get an idea of his style.
Sona thought for a moment and shrugged at her question. "I couldn't say. I pretty much just bought anything that was cheap before. Hm. Maybe something loose fitting or kind of bad ass?" Sona said out loud and started chuckling. "I don't know. I guess we will see when we get there. I should keep an eye out on this world's fashion trend," He told himself making a mental note to keep an eye on other students and their attire. Deltune looked over and smiled sweetly, happy to see Sona enjoying this world.
After several minutes of walking another large building came into view. "You've gotta be kidding me," Sona said in disbelief and looked around the building. "How can the Academy afford all of this?" Sona looked to Deltune for an answer but she just shrugged. 'It seems there are some things even she doesn't know. I'll have to look into this, it's very interesting and could serve me well later.' Sona thought to himself again. He pulled himself from his thoughts as they entered into the mall.
"Well, this place is definitely crowded. Come on, Sona. We shouldn't get separated," Deltune said and took Sona by the hand. She gently pulled on his arm and the two made their way to the map directory. "Okay, so for clothes and accessories we need the second floor," Deltune spoke aloud for Sona and the two of them made their way to the nearby stairs. They took the them up to the second floor and made their way right to the men's department. "First we need to get your school uniform. You might have to try on several sizes until we find the right one," Deltune said as she tried to squeeze into the men's store.
There were several dozen people in here already. Walking around hand in hand, Sona and Deltune made their way over to the school uniform section. Sona was a little stunned that the outfit looked so glamorous. It contained a long sleeved shirt and slacks that were royal purple. They both had black pin stripes going all the way around and down both arms and legs. It came with a black vest that had a white floral design all around the bottom. The vest sleeves barely reached the end of the shoulder and just barely went past the waist. "Well, that looks a little, extravagant," Sona chuckled nervously and looked at Deltune. She was looking Sona up and down and then back to the rack.
"Here, take these two and try them on," Deltune handed him the clothes and the two walked over to the fitting room. Deltune stood outside as Sona walked in and started to strip. Sona removed his shirt and looked over at the mirror stunned. "What?" He whispered softly, a little confused. His body had changed slightly. Sona's arms and chest were slightly more toned. Though they weren't very defined, he appeared to be more muscular than before. 'I should definitely start working out since I will be fighting in order to survive here.' He thought to himself as he continued his task.
The first uniform wasn't tight, but he tried on the bigger one next. It was a little loose, but he would grow into the size. Walking out shyly, Sona showed Deltune how he looked in this outfit. "Wha-what do you think, Del? Does it suit me?" He asked nervously and Deltune nodded at his question.
"It really looks good on you, Sona," She whispered sheepishly and Sona started scratching the back of his head nervously. "Okay. Keep that uniform on and throw those other clothes away. We can get you some more outfits here," She gave Sona a hundred gold pieces and walked around looking at some more clothes. Sona also started looking around for some other outfits. After half an hour, Sona and Deltune walked over and paid for his clothes. The school uniform and five additional outfits, plus three packs of socks and boxers, came to fifteen gold pieces.
"Hold onto the rest in case you see something else later. I've got some, too. Now let's go get my things," Deltune said happily and took hold of Sona's hand again. The two of them made their way back to the stairs and went left this time. The women's department was just as crowded, but it was filled with women. Sona felt a little uncomfortable, after all, he was the only guy there. Deltune smiled and squeezed Sona's hand. "I'm here with you. It's okay," She smiled and Sona nodded as they looked for Deltune's clothes now.
The women's uniform was basically identical to the men's except the women wore skirts instead of vests. The skirt had the same white floral design around the bottom, though. Deltune grabbed two different sizes and walked over to the fitting room. Sona followed after her and stayed near her. He had never spent this much time around so many women. It was a little intimidating for him. "I'll be out in a moment," Deltune whispered and walked inside the fitting room. Deltune slipped out of her clothes with ease and started trying on the smaller outfit first. She managed to squeeze into the smaller one, but the chest and waist were way to small.
She sighed softly and took off the smaller outfit. Deltune reluctantly tried on the bigger one and it was a perfect match. She went to walk out of the fitting room and hesitated. "Del? Come on out. I want to see," Sona called in softly trying to encourage her to come out. She took one last look at the mirror and smiled.
'Thank you, Sona.' She thought to herself and walked out slowly. Sona turned around and his jaw dropped slightly when he looked at Deltune. "Well, what do you think?" She asked Sona and gave a little twirl, her skirt fluttered up slightly.
"Beautiful," Sona muttered under his breath as he watched her twirl. "It looks really good on you, Del," He spoke a little louder trying to cover up the word he blurted out. Deltune's face turned a little red when she heard him whisper she was beautiful. He tried to cover it up, hoping she hadn't heard, but he was to late. She frowned a bit, but she smiled again instantly.
'I can't get mad at him. After all, he doesn't know my feelings and he is new to all this. I can't blame him.' She thought to herself as the two of them repeated the process. Deltune picked out five outfits and Sona walked out of the women's store. Deltune needed to pick out her bra and underwear, too. Sona was way to embarrassed to stay in there at that point. He held three bags in his hand that contained his things. He stood outside the store alone when a girl walked up in front of him.
"You look very handsome. Do you want to be my boyfriend?" The girl asked in a non emotional voice. Sona was shocked and stared at blankly at her. "Do you want to be my boyfriend?" She asked again in the same non emotional tone. Her face and expression were blank and she showed no emotion. Sona was stilled stunned at the question and couldn't respond.
"What's going on here?"
