Chapter 856 - Neverending Dreamland

"I didn't know you valued your women so much." Yu Baosi said even as he and Chen Wentian continued to trade blows.

"They are important to me. Therefore, shouldn't I protect them?" Chen Wentian replied.

Yu Baosi sneered, "I'll admit, giving a Spirit Lord Realm defensive treasure was something we didn't anticipate. But it doesn't matter. How long will it last? Another minute? Another two minutes? You should give up now. Otherwise, my uncle might accidentally kill a few of your women. It will be too late to regret then."

Chen Wentian smiled, "Oh? Are you sure?"

As he said this, he activated two of his souls that resided in a pair of swords.

Two distinct yet similar spiritual auras suddenly surged. They came from the swords that Song Wushuang and Xu Lanyi held. One was the Summer's Dance which carried the soul of the immortal fire wolf. The other was the Winter's Sun and carried the soul of its sister, the immortal ice wolf.

This pair of immortal souls shot out like a pair of violent spears, one cold as abyssal ice and the other scorching like the sun. They twirled around each other, forming a beautiful helix in midair as they struck at Yu Yanwu.

"Uncle!" Yu Baosi shouted in alarm.

Yu Yanwu had no time to shout. He was caught completely off guard. All he could do was raise a hasty defense with his silvery spiritual aura.

Ice and fire exploded. Two different elements clashed violently. They naturally opposed each other but strangely, they seemed to support each other intricately, increasing the power of the attack far beyond what they could achieve alone.

Yu Yanwu was blown away from the flying ship. His sorry figure crashed into the dirt and finally came to a stop almost a hundred meters away. Parts of his body were charred black or still burning. Other parts were bleeding from icy cuts or simply frozen over.

Such was the power of a pair of spirit beast siblings that had cultivated the Summer and Winter's Eternal Sutra. This immortal Dao was always intertwined. Thus, it was perfect for them and increased their strength severalfold, even after the death of their physical bodies.

"You… monster…" Yu Yanwu muttered, fighting the pain of his injuries.

"Uncle!" Yu Baosi shouted again.

He tried to get past Chen Wentian but his path was blocked.

"Move!" Yu Baosi bellowed, swinging his sword wildly.

Chen Wentian smiled, "My offer still stands. Join my bandit gang and I can spare your lives. But… if you dally any longer, your dear uncle might really lose his life."

"Shut up! I'll kill you!" Yu Baosi shouted.

Now fully enraged, his sword aura rose to new heights. He attacked again and again. But each time, his sword was blocked by the fat immortal in his way.

While this was happening, Lin Qingcheng led the other disciples toward Yu Yanwu. They covered the distance at a leisurely pace and arrived in front of the ancient immortal as he got to his feet.

"You… who are you people?" He grunted, holding his chest as he swept away the lingering flames and ice on his body.

"Lord Yu Yanwu, please consider our master's sincere offer. Otherwise, please prepare yourself." Zhou Ziyun said.

Yu Yanwu was momentarily dumbfounded. A mere mortal was asking him to surrender. It was preposterous! It didn't matter how many immortal treasures they had; he wasn't going to give in to a bunch of ants. With his pride as an immortal, it was simply impossible!

However, Chen Wentian wasn't going to give him a choice. He activated another soul, this one a recent addition. It was the soul of the ageless ice unicorn that resided in the Ageless Ice Sword in Li Yuechan's possession.

It had started as the remnant soul of an origin beast at the Mind Focusing Realm when Chen Wentian found it at a random shop in Everblade City. Now, after months of cultivation and utilizing the soul he obtained from killing He Xinghan, the ageless ice unicorn had barely reached the Spirit Lord Realm.

A surge of bone-chilling coldness came from Li Yuechan's sword. It spread in all directions for a few breaths before changing direction and charging toward Yu Yanwu. This was not the ice art of Winter's Snow Dance. No, this was the unique art of the ageless ice unicorn. As an origin beast species, this wasn't out of the ordinary. After all, they had established a society and even cities in their blessed realm for countless generations.

This unique art was called the Neverending Dreamland. It carried the namesake of their clan, ageless ice. It was an ice-based art based on that attribute. It did not have the powerful offense of Winter's Snow Dance. Instead, it sought to control the flow of battle, dull the opponent's senses, and ultimately find victory by subduing them completely.

Against such a spiritual art, Yu Yanwu's reaction was comical, to say the least. His silvery palms struck out in all directions as he tried to fight off the encroaching wave of coldness. But there was nothing to attack. It was simply a never-ending foe, an ageless field of ice, that threatened to gradually engulf him.

If he was not wounded, if he was a hundred years younger, he could have forcefully broken out of the effects of the Neverending Dreamland. Even in his current state, he could have still resisted the strange ice art for a long time.

However, he didn't have that kind of time as another burst of ice and fire from the Summer's Dance and the Winter's Sun hit him square in the chest.

"Ahh!" He let out a miserable and frail shout.

He was sent flying once more. This time, he wasn't so quick to get back up.

"Uncle!" Yu Baosi shouted, now completely desperate.

Chen Wentian grinned. The time was right for him to finally act. He waved his hand and Wu Qianyu's Purple Jade Sword flew to him. He grabbed it and immediately unleashed his full strength. The blade glowed bright purple before turning into a deep blue hue.

Above him, across the sky, a thousand sword lights appeared and took shape. This was the Thousand Sword Crusade, the first descent of mythical sword art of dragons, the Descent of Ascalon!

Yu Baosi felt the impossibly immense pressure of this sword art. His face paled and cold sweat poured down his brow. He couldn't understand it, how something could make him feel like this. His thoughts became dull and he didn't know what to do.

He finally realized that this fat immortal was speaking the truth. His uncle was going to die. He was going to die. There was only one way out of this, one road to survival.

He sheathed his sword and bowed, "Lord, we surrender! Please spare us!"
