Shadow was sitting in a large Colosseum like place. It was beautifully designed with more than enough room to fit the large sum of students that were here right now. From what he could tell this place had more than 500 students at least. He had chosen a row somewhat in the middle. He could tell people were already starting to make friends by some of the groups that were clearly sitting together.
"You think I should make friends before everyone just assumes I'm a loner."
"Aren't you a loner though?" Lucifer said with his loud cackling echoing in shadows head.
"Ha funny," shadow had a scowl on his face which incidentally scared a couple people that were on his way to walk to him.
"I don't think you have much time anyway. It seems to me someone is teleporting to the middle of the Colosseum." Shadow looked directly towards the middle narrowing his eyes so he could tell where Lucifer had felt the disturbance.
A lady with bright long purple hair that matched her eyes. It was more like a soft violet. She wasn't at all tall maybe only being about 5 foot. Although when she appeared her presence felt almost towering.She didn't look older than her late 20s but he knew this was incorrect if she was the Principal of this establishment. It would mean she was most likely also the strongest person here. The arena then began to calm down.
"Now that everyone has made it here we will begin the discussion of your attendance to my academy." Shadow had looked around knowing that there were a lot of people here, but the size of the arena made it seem like a very small number. "As all of you know to even be admitted is an amazing achievement to boast about. Although first thing is first." As she said this shadow had thought she had looked towards his direction and narrowed her eyes. Also forming a sly smile across her face.
"I know most of you have already paid the amount due or taken a test to get in. Even though we have guards all around the school and a very superior medical magician staff, only second behind the royal medical wing. Some of you will die or be severely injured. It's sad but true, there will be time as student you must serve the kingdom and that might lead to your death. Of course we on our side will do everything we can to make sure that doesn't happen. Oh also as you know we have two of the Royal family members at this academy. That being said the youngest prince will now attend the same school after being found to be sage."
The entire colosseum had started whispering and talking. Two people in front of shadow had started talking about rumors of how they had heard he was incredibly weak and just a puppet prince for the queen." Wow royals are always so powerful. Maybe we can meet him?" It was the group of people who had turned around just before meeting shadow after seeing the look he was giving.
She had waited for the whispers to die down before finishing. "Not only is he sage but also has reached novice stage at only the age of eleven." This had effected them even more with people yelling remarks of how crazy it was to do something like that.
"I only say this because some noble might get the idea to hurt someone or torment them. Do not forget the prestige and power of this academy. If you think we take light of bullying to any of our students, you might find out otherwise but by then it'll be too late for you and your family. Even though we show respect and aid to the queens lineage. Even she doesn't has power here so with that being said I'd suggest not doing anything untoward to anyone."
"Why'd she say that about the prince. Do you think he's a stuck up bully. Maybe I don't want to meet him?" The conversation had come from the same group beside him. Even though shadow knew that she was actually probably trying to protect him from the nobles who actually knew where he stood in the queen's eyes. It still didn't look good for him if she said it like that making it seem like he was the type to do such things.
"Anyway get to your first classes. Even though you won't actually be learning today you'll still have to go there for more instruction. After you'll have time to explore the grounds and make friends."
She had disappeared but not in the same way his master usually did. It felt different for some reason but he couldn't think of it. As he saw people walking and getting up looking at the booklet that contained a map of the grounds, he had also started walking to the exit. From the corner of his eye he had seen the girl that was with Sono staring at him. He looked for a tiny bit but figured she looked at him because she had recognized him and that was it.
He had kept walking until he felt a tap on his should which was the girl. She was taller than him by maybe a couple inches so he looked up just a tiny bit.
"Uhhhh...Lily correct?"
"Yes, I was actually wondering could you help me find Briar's classroom?"
"I actually have a class in that building too. You can just walk with me."
"Ok thanks prince." She had gone to bow to him but he stopped it right away.
"Ok stop bowing and don't call me prince how about just calling me by my name. Shadow"
"Oh is that allowed though? Aren't you royalty?"
"As you heard that doesn't matter here."
If she hadn't of been with Sono he would think she was just a peasant hoping to use him or even a noble hoping to stab him in the back. She seemed knowledgeable but not in the ways of Marona. Sono had said he hoped to make her his daughter so they weren't related. She also looked pretty different than the usual Marona women.
"Not to be uncourteous but are you an orphan."
"I guess you could say that. Sono found me in the outer lands."
After shadow had heard that he immediately put up any follow up questions for the main reason of bringing up lost ones or dead family. If you lived in the outer lands and didn't have protection from a kingdom it was likely you knew someone who had died to the bandits and creatures out there. "Hey look we're here I'll see you later."
"Thanks again could you wait for me after I would like to go exploring the campus but idk anyone."
"Isn't this the moment you wanted to make friends boy?"
Shadow heard Lucifer but didn't reply because his heart had actually skipped a beat. "Yes I do, you wait to in case mine is longer. I'll see you."
In the back of his head was words from Apollo, "trust no one."
