Jasmine Yale stopped at the door, seeming to hesitate over something.
After a long while, she touched her belly and said slowly, "My baby was bullied today."
It was quiet here, and Sylvan Cheney heard her, scoffing, "Your baby was bullied, what does that have to do with me."
"Your fiancée's best friend is quite formidable, sharp-tongued and not lacking in the ability to act." Jasmine Yale gritted her teeth.
Even though she wasn't one to snitch, she still wanted to tell Sylvan Cheney.
Sylvan Cheney recalled the scars on her arm, as if realizing something.
"CEO Cheney, do you like children?"
"No, I don't." Sylvan Cheney almost didn't hesitate.
"Oh." Jasmine Yale stood with her back to him, a look of disappointment on her face. Even if he hadn't forgotten her, knowing she was pregnant might not make him happy.
He truly didn't like children.
Jasmine lowered her head, touched her belly, "Did you hear that? He doesn't like you."
