I just nodded at this as I couldn't say that was wrong at all. To someone who studied and taught history like him the coincidence alone was in fact the prize at the end of all that investigation. I did consider telling him he could just exhume Sir Drakes body and compare the genetic markers against mine to see if theres any relation but chose not to. While he would no doubt use the method it would rob him of the thrill of chasing the discovery. The classroom itself was set up similarly to a college classroom with semicircular seating and desks all facing the board and desk at the front.-
Along the walls sat various pieces of historical things. A flintlock, a conquistador helmet, a broken wand, just a collection of magical and muggle historical items from various times. One that caught my attention however was a plain looking tarnished hammer that I lazily appraised out of habit only to freeze at what I found.-
{Item name: Hephaestus's hammer
Class: Treasure
Value: 70,000,000 system coins
Condition: Perfect(indestructible)
Description: The hammer of the wizard smith Hephaestus himself. Made of oak grown on the side of a volcano and a head of celestial gold this hammer contains the knowledge of craft belonging to Hephaestus. This hammer is functionally useless without the forge of the the wizard smith to accompany it and will only unseal itself when a creative heir unites them properly.}
'I must admit the smith god made his inheritance test particularly hard. I bet no one even knows this hammer is part of his legacy.' I thought with an amused shake of my head.
By comparison the two of three artifacts of Zeus that I have myself were far more straightforward. Though I suppose it would make sense that they would be. The man was proud and wouldn't have left his artifacts as something nearly unidentifiable.-
His trials were also as brutally arrogant as you would imagine. So long as you could survive claiming them they were yours. That reminded me but I hadn't actually fully drained the scepter of it's knowledge at all so far. As much as I wanted to I simply didn't have the foundation needed to fully inherit all of his knowledge. Most of the spells he knew were of the ancient nonverbal variety and that stuff was something people these days might spend years trying to learn since it's incredibly high end.-
Without reaching the knowledge level that the experts of magic had I had no hope of truly learning the knowledge. It was for this reason I hadn't touched the scepter in months now. For all his great power Zeus wasn't a crafter of any sort. He excelled in combat and raw overwhelming power, not potions, alchemy or anything of the sort. He wasn't useless at them but his actual knowledge on the subjects were no better than someone with a passing grade, at the edge.-
Anyways the lesson started and Andros started with a recent magical and muggle period of historical significance, World war two. His teaching method was VASTLY superior to Binns monotone droning about dates and names. Andros had magical scenes taken from people who had lived through events that he showed from both muggle and magical sides. Grindelwald and his followers performing their raids and rallies. The Nazi war party moving with them in secret collusion. Andros didn't just call Grindelwald a mad man and move on but was completely, brutally, honest about him. -
That the reason he was so dangerous wasn't because he was insane but because he was actually quite sane and made points that resonated with many witches and wizards. He showed the infamous rally that took place in Paris and almost resulted in disaster. Watching the man at his peak gracefully creating his feared and awed blue flames with the elder wand in his hand made my own hand twitch with the phantom sensation of casting that spell. I didn't have the mans knowledge but his spell foundation was there waiting to be fully expressed creating this sensation.-
Andros made no attempt at sparing any of the ministries face either and showed the news paper articles of them allowing Grindelwald to participate in the election at Bhutan. He showed a memory of Newt thwarting his plan of exploiting the selection process by using necromancy on a dead Qilin when a living one was brought forth. The resulting fight between Grindelwald and Dumbledore, at least what bits were seen. Frankly I was in awe at the lesson because it was genuinely engaging. If I didn't know any better I almost would have thought Andros had pulled out the stops just to show off to me.-
I even ended up leaving the class with a series of notes that were both relevant to the lesson and also not. For example I noted the spells used during the memories and even the details most would miss focusing on the whole picture. For example that charged exchange of looks between Dumbledore and Grindelwald before the latter dropped off the cliff and apparated away. A small thing but one that only knowing the two's story would expose for what it is. The heartbroken understanding that they were well and truly enemies now. Not because of hatred but simple clashing ideals.
