Chapter 180 - Access Granted

Deathstalker was about to close the window he just climbed into when, "Who's... FUCK!! You scare hell out of me!!" Bruno scolded him.

Deathstalker turned his head toward Bruno who was still in bed. "Good, you're awake," he said calmly, didn't care that his friend was almost having a heart attack because his sudden entrance.

"Let's go to Viper," he continued, knowing that Bruno was still in his sleepy head.

When the two guys were opening the door, just like Bruno, Lily woke up with a jolt.

"Can't you guys knock ?" Lily grumbled, "What if I were naked ?"

Bruno blushed to hear her last question while Deathstalker just knocked the door twice. "There. Happy now ?" He asked.

Without waiting for Lily's answer, he then walked toward the study area and sat on the chair there.

"What did you get ?" Bruno asked after sitting in front of him.

"I met Wang Ji Shu," Deathstalker answered then grinning to see the jaw dropping look on his mates.

"So Madam is right then... It is him," Lily murmured.

"And our guess is also correct, whatever the guards and other workers do as extra jobs has something to do with Wang Ji Shu... AND.. AND... most probably what caused the pandemic," Deathstalker added. He then told them about the secret area on the border of the town, how the workers were queuing to enter the area, how they had to be referenced to be able to work there, and how they needed an access to enter the area.

"So, what's the plan now ?" Bruno asked.

"We need to enter that site, that's for sure," Deathstalker said. "But to do so, we need reference. Lily and I can not ask those guards to refer us, we are just too famous and noble to do the work."

"I can't either because they hate non yellow-skinned people," Bruno said, but then he saw Deathstalker's thin smile. "Unless of course, you know how to make me yellow..."

Deathstalker nodded with a smile. "Sukraj was one who knew how And he agreed to help us."

Deathstalker took out the five bottles of potion Sukraj gave to him earlier. "Each bottle will make you smell like yellow-skinned people for a day," he continued.

"Cool..." Lily murmured again.

Bruno grabbed a bottle, inspected it for a while while mumbling, "So... what's the plan ?"

-

The siren was heard and the light was immediately went out like someone switching it off. Some minutes later, the sound of a group of people walking was heard. Not just their footsteps, but also their giggles and laughter. They sounded like a group of youngsters that just came out of a party.

"Jiu ming ... (help...)," a heartbreaking cry came from the side way. Barely heard. Totally ignored.

"Jiu ming..."

Still, no one listened.

"Jiu ming wo aaa...!! (help me...!!)"

This time the cry was louder, like it was the owner's last attempt.

Fortunately, it didn't go to waste. Someone heard it

"Ni ting bu ting (Did you hear it) ?" That someone asked his friends, telling them to be silent.

"Jiu ming.... wo...."

Barely a whisper, but it was enough for that small group of people to notice it. They immediately walked toward the source of voice.

A man laid behind a big pillar, barely wore anything except wounds all over his body.

"Peng you, ni hai hao ma ? (Friend, are you okay ?" One of the guy approached the man. He then reached the man's shoulder to turn his body. The man's face was battered. His eyes were swollen and barely could open.

"Jiu ming...." The man whispered for the last time before losing his consciousness.

The group was panicked to know the man was fainting and immediately ran away. Fortunately, one of the men felt pity and decided to approach the wounded man back. He shook the man's shoulder, trying to wake him up. But nothing happened. Finally, he took the man and carried him on his shoulder like a sack.

-

A pair of eyes slowly opened. At first they could only receive… nothing. It was neither that the eyes were blind or it was a pitch black.

"Ni xing lai le.. (You're awake…) Tau hao le (Good)," a voice greeted the owner of the eyes with relief.

"Wo… zai na'r… (Where… am I…)" The owner of the eyes asked, more likely to himself.

"Wo de jia (My home)," The other man said. As the man brought his head closer to him, it is then the eyes could catch the silhouette of the man's head. Big. Harsh furry.

The owner of the eyes struggled to wake up, but the other man forbade him. "Guòdù huódòng bùyào (Don't move too much). Wánquán kāngfù hái méiyǒu nǐ de shēntǐ. (Ypur body hasn't fully recovered yet)"

The owner of the eyes just stared as the man wiped something from his body and then put some kind of dirt on the body part. In instance, the pain on that body part disappeared. "Zhenme.. (How could…)," The wounded man asked in disbelieve.

"Wo shi yi sheng (I'm a healer)," the man introduced himself to answer the wounded man's question.

"Duo xie Nin (thank you)," The wounded man murmured. The healer waved his hand, asking him not to mention it. "

"Wǒ zài lù biān jiǎn dàole nǐ. (I picked you out from the road) Nǐ dāngshí zài chéngjiāo kūzhe qiújiù. (You were on the border of the city crying for help,) Nǐ dàodǐ zěnmeliǎo? (What happened to you?)" The man asked while standing, disappearing from the wounded man's sight.

"Wo.. wo shi Ji Zhou (I.. I'm Ji Zhou)," the wounded man introduced himself. "Wǒ láizì lìng yībiān. (I come from the other side.) Wǒ tīng shuō zhè li yǒu gè xīn de gōngzuò jīhuì. (I heard about the new job opportunity here.)..."

Suddenly, the healer turned around and grabbed Ji Zhou's shoulder. "Ni zěnme zhīdào zhè fèn gōngzuò de? (Jpw could you know about the job?)" He asked suspiciously.

"Aargh!" Ji zhou groaned painfully as his shoulder was grabbed and shaken so hard. "Wo.. Wǒjiā nà biān dōu chuán kāile! (It was a big rumor back at my place!)" He creamed in pain. "Wǒ gēnběn bù zhīdào shéi dài lái de.. (I don't know who brought it at the first place…) Zhen de!! (It's true!!!)"

Realizing his patient was in pain because of him, the healer released his grabbing hands. "Dui bu qi… dui bu qi… (I'm sorry… I'm sorry)," He murmured, patting Ji Zhou's shoulder gently al though still made him grimaced in pain. "Jixu shuo ba (Continue tlking)"

"Wǒ de yīxiē péngyǒu qùle nàlǐ. (Some of my friends went here.) Tāmen gàosù wǒmen zhè fèn gōngzuò ràng tāmen duōme kuàilè. (They said, this job make them happy.) Tāmen shuō, tāmen yǐqián cóng wèi gǎnjué rúcǐ chōngmǎn huólì. (They said, they never felt this alive before)," Ji Zhou explained fearfully. Knowing that the healer didn;t respond anything, he continued, "Suǒyǐ wǒ lí jiā chūzǒu, qù xúnzhǎo yī fèn gèng hǎo de gōngzuò (Thus, I ran away from home to seek a better job.) Dàn wǒ lái zhè'er de lùshàng bèi qiǎngle. (But they rob me on the way here.) Tāmen bǎ suǒyǒu dōngxī dū qiǎng zǒule. (They took everything from me.) Wǒ… wo shénme dōu méiyǒule. (I… I have nothing left.)," Ji Zhou hid his face with both hands and cried.

The healer sighed. "Nǐ yǒu shé me tècháng? (What's your talent?)"

"Wo,,, Wǒ kěyǐ pòhuài dōngxī (I… I can break things)," Ji Zhou answered.

Before the healer gave any response, someone was calling him from outside.

"Nà shì wǒ de bìngrén. (That's my patient.)," he said then walked toward the opening of the room. Before he went out, he halted his movement and turned to Ji Zhou, "Xiān xiūxí yīxià, wǒ shāo hòu huì ānpái nǐ kāishǐ gōngzuò. (Take a rest first. I will arrange you for the job later.)"

Ju Zhou could only watch the healer slowly disappeared into somewhere behind the opening. He then laid his head fully to the ground. Sighed heavily. A thin smile was drawn on his face.
