When Summer Ford returned, she thought that with her absence, Ethan Laurent might not have had breakfast yet, so she stopped by a nearby store on the way to buy some for him to take back.
When she arrived home, the villa was very quiet.
Summer Ford walked in slowly and pushed open the living room door.
Ethan Laurent was sitting on the sofa in the living room, his body turned sideways to her, holding an unknown newspaper in his hands.
His body seemed very stiff, his gaze fixed on the newspaper.
"I'm back." Summer Ford greeted him.
Ethan Laurent remained facing sideways, ignoring her.
"I brought you breakfast; have you eaten?" Summer Ford cast him a glance and turned into the kitchen.
The kitchen was cold and empty, with no signs of use; it seemed the servants hadn't come.
Ethan Laurent still ignored her.
"What's wrong? What are you reading?" Summer Ford noticed his unusual expression and slowly walked over to him.
After her words, Ethan Laurent finally lifted his face up.
