Ethan Laurent stood right in the center of the doorway, his gaze as cold and indifferent as the chill in the air, falling upon her face. That look made Summer Ford feel the tension in the entire kitchen.
However, her face still appeared nonchalant.
Turning around, she walked straight past him. After leaving the kitchen, she stopped, lowered her eyes to glance at her belly, and then turned her head to look at him. "By the way, last night you promised me that for now, I could still live at school. I hope you won't go back on your word."
Ethan Laurent's face was gloomy; he actually wanted to go back on his word!
"Isn't it the same if you come to pick me up every few days?" Summer Ford observed his expression, and noticing something was off, quickly added.
"Absence makes the heart grow fonder?" With a mocking twist at the corner of his mouth, he spoke, half sarcastic, half teasing.
Summer Ford was slightly stunned, her face a bit embarrassed, yet she agreed, "Isn't it?"
