"Gone?" Snor Fairchild asked coldly.
The man stiffly nodded and then withdrew.
Snor Fairchild stood at the doorway, his hand rigid as he pushed the door open.
Summer Ford lay on the bed, her eyes vacant as she stared ahead, an emptiness deep within them.
"About this matter..." Snor Fairchild, never one to console others, slightly moved his lips but couldn't utter a word.
It was as if Summer hadn't heard him, her hand numbly landing on her flat abdomen.
She was lost in thought for a long time, with Snor Fairchild accompanying her in silence.
The room was quiet for almost the entire afternoon. When evening came, Summer suddenly felt a twisting pain in her heart and, uncontrollably, burst into tears.
She cried sorrowfully, and Snor Fairchild did not stop her, simply allowing her to cry. When her sobs finally faded, he took a few steps forward, gently pulling her into his embrace, "It's all right, it's all right."
