"Alright, got it!" Tanya Dalton was about to drive away when her phone suddenly rang.
The name on the caller ID—Ethan Laurent!
Tanya paused for a moment.
Summer Ford, noticing her unusual expression, instantly guessed the caller's identity.
Tanya cast a sidelong glance at Summer, moved aside, and took the call.
"Ethan, I'm outside, what's up?"
"Has she contacted you?" Ethan Laurent's voice was as cold as fog laced with frost.
Tanya's body tensed as her gaze shifted to Summer outside.
Summer watched her facial expressions change impassively, feeling a tightness in her chest.
Standing outside, she made a sign to Tanya using hand gestures.
Tanya snapped out of it, composed herself, and murmured back to Ethan, "No."
There were no more words from Ethan, who hung up immediately.
Tanya sat in the car, dazed, staring at the phone screen for a while. After saying that, she felt a bit uneasy in her heart.
