Ethan Laurent was silent for a moment. Just when Summer Ford thought he might show some remorse, he said expressionlessly, "Isn't it just a few billion? What does that amount mean to Aiden Lennox?"
It was such a dismissive remark, and clearly, he felt no guilt—on the contrary, he seemed to think this feeling... was exhilarating!
Summer Ford was utterly speechless at his words and didn't want to discuss money with someone who never saw it as such. She pulled out the chair opposite him and sat down.
"Miss Ford, I made your favorite soup tonight. Try it and see if it still tastes good," Lana said, serving her a bowl of soup.
"Thank you, Lana." Summer Ford was much kinder to the housekeeper than to Ethan Laurent.
Ethan Laurent observed her quietly, his brows slightly furrowed.
Summer Ford ignored his less-than-pleased expression, finished a small bowl of Lana's soup, and began her dinner.
