With a deeply uneasy heart, she took a few steps and followed Enzo Laurent out.
Enzo Laurent didn't take her far, just to a corner outside the ward.
"Summer!" He stared at her for a moment, his tone seemingly a bit helpless.
"Grandpa, I didn't do it!" Summer Ford defended herself with righteous conviction. "I do have a grudge with Raine Sullivan, it started a long time ago, but it's not to the point where I'd drug her! Grandpa, you have to believe me!"
Enzo Laurent didn't refute her, he only said earnestly, "This time, it's not something that can be solved just because I believe you or not! A lot of things have to be settled with evidence, and right now all the evidence is against you, do you understand? And in this society there's something even more useful than evidence. You're so smart, how could you not understand that?"
Summer was stunned.
She stared at him blankly for a moment, then asked awkwardly, "What is it you're trying to say, Grandpa?"
Was he talking about power?
