The first person to notice Meng Shu falling into the water was a deputy director from the production team.
She was carrying a pile of branded items and happened to pass by, catching sight of a figure sprawled by the piranha pool from the corner of her eye. When she looked closely again, she saw the wet back, the rippling water surface, and the school of piranhas, scaring her so much that she almost dropped the props in her hands!
They were piranhas, after all!
To create buzz and attract traffic, the program used real piranhas.
Though the piranhas in this pool were only half the size of a palm, were relatively mild, and had no history of harming people, who could confidently guarantee they wouldn't attack someone?!
If a 'man-eating' incident occurred, not only would this show certainly be canceled, but even the station would have to deal with the fallout!
