Based on the dialogue between the three Melowa officers, I've at least gleaned two pieces of information: The Slave Races taken to the Divine Country are being used for some kind of "extraction" experiment, though I'm not sure what exactly is being extracted; anyway, it's definitely inhumane. Secondly, Barrian has acquired some sort of power, likely having cracked an important technological secret from the Old Empire Era. I just hope it's not the activation key for Big Sister's Royal Fleet back in the day. I pondered over these two issues for about ten minutes and, not having any leads, decided to set them aside for now, figuring I'd soon crack at least one of them myself: What exactly is being done to those slaves.
