"I mean... I've liked you for a long time?" Shi Keke expressed in disbelief.
"Mhm." He took a deep drag of his cigarette, then leaned down to blow the smoke into her face, his actions teeming with ambiguous intent.
"Cough..."
Shi Keke was quite a smoker herself, so her cough was obviously not from being choked by the smoke, but rather a pretext to change the subject.
"Uh, I have the early shift today." She stood up and walked towards the bed, continuing as she moved: "I took on a complicated case yesterday, I need to follow up on it as soon as possible, so I swapped shifts with a colleague. I have to be at the office around seven."
Taking on a complicated case was true, and so was having the early shift, but the time... that was made up.
Normal working hours at the law firm where Shi Keke worked were from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, and the early shift started at 8:50 am.
And now it was just past 6:10 am, almost three hours away from her shift.
