Shi Aoju sat down at the dining table, and Su Jiuyi placed the knife and fork in front of him, then followed and sat beside him, propping her chin up with her hand on the table, looking at him expectantly.
"Young Master Jue, please try it."
Watching him elegantly pick up the knife and fork, cut a small piece off the steak, and then slowly chew it in his mouth, Su Jiuyi's palms were sweating with anxiety.
It was her first time making steak, following the steps in the book, not knowing if it was too salty or bland, or how the texture would be.
"How is it, is it good?" she asked eagerly.
Shi Aoju raised his eyebrows with an inscrutable expression, and before he commented, Su Jiuyi interpreted his reaction as "not good."
She leaned closer to him, picked up the knife and fork to cut a small piece of steak and put it in her mouth, wanting to taste it herself. She didn't realize she was using the utensils Shi Aoju had just used, and she bit the fork he had just had in his mouth.
