Then she immediately turned her head, refusing to look into Ji Anning's eyes. She didn't know how to pretend not to know.
She clearly knew that she was about to purposely blind one of her own good eyes, yet still had to act ignorant.
Jin Yuanyuan walked ahead, barely managing a few steps before needing to stop herself—unable to bear seeing, yet unable to look away.
"What's wrong?"
Ji Anning raised her head just as Jin Yuanyuan turned to look at her, asking curiously.
Jin Yuanyuan pressed her lips together, forcing a smile, then turned back around and continued walking with her hands tightly gripping the strap of her bag.
"Yuanyuan, is there something bothering you?" Ji Anning, noticing the oddity in Jin Yuanyuan's steps, said, "If there's anything you need help with, just tell me. Don't beat around the bush."
She thought Jin Yuanyuan needed her help with something.
