In no time at all, she fell asleep, feeling utterly exhausted.
But in her groggy state, even until she fell asleep, she didn't sense Lu Xiao coming back to bed.
Perhaps she was overthinking things, as she ended up having a terrible dream.
She dreamt that Lu Xiao ignored her completely, unable to hear anything she said, and even seemingly unable to see her. At a busy intersection, she tried to catch up to him, only to see another woman reaching him first.
The woman took his arm, and the two of them left together.
It was as if she wasn't there at all.
Though it was just a dream, it left her feeling utterly bewildered and, upon realizing it, intensely angry and upset.
"Damn it...!"
She cursed quietly in her dream, and that expletive unmistakably slipped out of her mouth. A few seconds later, she consciously woke up from the dream.
It was now the next day.
She hurriedly glanced to her side, only to find it empty.
Lu Xiao was gone.
