Bethany's comment brought Jacen back to the current situation, they were in the middle of trying to find the Anasazi tribe and hopefully be led by them to the lost tribe. Jacen turned to face the statue that nolonger seemed to be glowing, but that didn't mean it wouldn't start glowing again once he began to move towards it again. As Jacen began walking towards the eagle statue, the eyes flared with a silvery blue energy for just a moment before dimming shortly after. We all breathed a sigh of relief as Jacen took the final step for him to move past the guardian statue. "It worked, I can't believe it actually worked!" Bethany exclaimed. Jacen laughed lightly and said, "You didn't think it would work, and you just let me walk towards it?" "No!" Bethany retorted, "How was I supposed to know if it would work or not? Until you walked towards it and past it, none of us could have known one way or another. You had already risked dying to do it, so, what right did I have to stop you without some sort of indication it wouldn't work?" Jacen laughed a bit harder now before responding, "Fair enough. Well, at least we don't have to figure something else out. Come on, let's find this Tribe and then hopefully the next one." Victor and Bethany fell in behind Jacen, walking past the eiry statue. The group continued walking for a while putting quite a bit of distance between them and the hunk of rock that appeared to contain some sort of consciousness, and strange magic powers before Jacen and Bethany took their wolf forms. Jacen took Victor on his back now being the strongest of the two. They practically flew through the woods moving far faster than they had before, trees blurring in vibrant colors that seemed to swirl and fly past them in a kaleidoscope of foliage. Jacen was fast before, but even slowing down for Bethany while carrying Victor on his back, Bethany found it difficult to keep pace. Victor pointed the way, guiding the two wolves towards the people he hoped would be able to give them answers, even if only to help the people who trusted him enough to let him show them what he knows about reality. They might have some quirks like turning into giant fury animals that could kill and eat him without a second thought, but they were willing to hear him, and had enough trust in his story to let him not only enter their minds, but also lead them out of their bodies and into another world. Day light began to shine through the dense foliage, overriding the ambient glow of the mushrooms and life energy in the air as they approached a clearing. Several huts stood in the clearing where the very people they were seeking lived. As they flew out of the tree line, they heard bells and saw people running out of the huts with knives, spears and bows all at the ready to be used and shouting in a language they couldn't understand. Victor began shouting to stop and then communicating in the same odd language. The people seemed to recognize Victor, but refused to drop their weapons. Victor said, "You need to shift back into your human forms, your current forms are considered a threat and they didn't believe me when I explained that you have complete control. They want you to shift back before allowing you into the village." Jacen and Bethany looked at one another before they began to shift back. It was clear that they were in the right place. These people definitely had some sort of knowledge about the werewolves and they seemed to be familiar enough with them to have an alarm system for them. Bethany and Jacen finished shifting back before the people began to lower their weapons, but they remained on high alert. Victor began speaking to them, explaining to them who they were and why they were there. The tribes folk didn't take too kindly to the knowledge that Jacen was originally one of the experiments created by the vampires, raising their spears and bows again, but lowered them once again after he explained that Jacen had rejected the artificial form that the vampires had forced upon him and infected his entire family with. Explaining that he had willingly become what he is now to be cleansed of the vampire's influence. Finally Victor began telling them about how Bethany's family became werewolves and the treaty they saught with the vampires. The tribes folk seemed to be quite distrustful of them in that moment, but their weapons weren't pointed at them again. They seemed to understand that given the circumstances Bethany's family had no idea what the war between the vampires and werewolves was about. Victor began to explain that the vampires wanted to experiment with Bethany's blood and the creation of non-human werewolves. He told them about Peanut and what he had told Bethany, her trip to see the skinwalkers, her search for their tribe, and the fact that she was there to find the truth. The tribes folk took us to the village chief where Victor again told the story. After what felt to be hours, the Chief began to relax, finally having understood the purpose of our visit. The chief then turned to Jacen and I, speaking in his native tongue while Victor translated. Victor said, "Chief Woona says that he can only confirm part of the story that Peanut told you. There was indeed a great battle between the men with long teeth, the vampires, and the lost tribe. But he called them, Wathari, or the children of the first wolf. He doesn't know if they had been werewolves before the battle or if like in Peanut's story, they were turned by the first werewolf who absorbed the wolf spirit from the great wolf Peanut spoke of. Regardless of the truth of the matter, the tribe was nearly destroyed in the battle. The Wathari came to him asking for him and his people to hide them away in another world, or at least until they were ready to strike back at the men with long teeth. His people were known for their powerful shamans and great seers. So they came seeking the power of the Anasazi to keep them safe while they rebuilt their numbers."
