Soza pointed down, and golden energy accumulated on his finger.

A Ray of Golden Light shot downwards, aiming straight at Coddin's head. Coddin was only an Initial Stage Celestial, so he still had a normal Core. Breaking it meant Coddin would be completely out of battle and possibly dead instantly, as the Demon Beasts' Cores also had their souls inside.

Out of nowhere, a Shield of Silver Flames appeared, blocking the Ray of Golden Light! Coddin blocked the attack!
"What are you doing?!" Coddin asked back, fuming! Well, he knew a battle would start sooner or later anyway.
