Selena woke up with a sore body. She's still in Luke's room but she can't seem to find him. Suddenly the bathroom door opened.
"Good morning my love". He gave her a gentle kiss on her lips. "Sore?..... I'm so sorry I tried to be gentle". His eyes are very apologetic.
"It's okay.... I gave you myself willingly. I shouldn't complain or something". She said shyly. She lowered her head to hide her red face.
"You can whine or throw tantrums anytime I won't mind". He was grinning. Thinking how cute she is. He took her hand and gave it a gentle kiss.
Selena suddenly remembered her mother. "My Mom!". As she looked at the face of her man.
"She didn't come home last night". Luke said casually.
"What!". Worried were written on Selena's face in an instant.
"Don't panic she's fine. She met some friends and had some alcohol. She decided to spend the night at their place".
"Friends.... Alcohol.... She's wasted!". Selena squinted her eyes. "I told her not to get drunk outside the house".
Luke chuckled. He was amused with her reaction. "You sounded like her mother more than her daughter".
"You don't know Erin, she's a total headache when she gets drunk".
"Don't worry I know the people she's with. She fell asleep immediately after she got drunk".
Hearing that Luke knows the people Erin referred as friends, she was relieved.
"Now that we cleared things about Erin. I think we need to talk about us". Luke became serious.
"Ahm.... About that. Is it okay if we keep it a secret?". Selena said shyly she even bit her lower lips.
Luke was astound. As far as he can recall every women who get involved with him wants the whole world to know about their so called relationship. "Are you embarrassed to be my woman?". Luke asked with confusion on his face.
"No of course not.... Its just that I don't want people to think that I am using you to finance my studies and stuff like that.... I mean you own the school and you're very rich". She paused. She don't really know how to explain herself. "I don't want people to misunderstood!". She bit her lips and lowered her head. 'I'm in a big trouble'. She thought.
Luke suddenly understood what Selena wants to say. "If that's what you want, then that's what we will do". He agreed without hesitation. Selena have a point. At their current status people might think that way. Though he won't mind if his Mate wants to use him or his money and status. But he knows Selena is not like those cheap women who wants to have a piece of his their wealth. He can see how Erin brought up his Mate in a good way. Selena was raised as a good person and he was so proud of it. Luke considered her request besides he already marked her. Every wolf in town will know and respect her. He doesn't care about ordinary human but he knows Selena wants to live a quiet life out of gossip and rumors.
"Thank you!". Selena hugged him. She can't believed he will understand her so easily.
"You smell so good". Luke feels like his temperature is rising again as he touched his Mate's naked body.
Selena froze. She forgot she's still naked. "I think.... I need to take a shower". Selena wrapped herself with a blanket again then rushed inside Luke's bathroom. She heard him laugh out loud.
NORTHERN PART OF THE WOODS.
"She's been marked!".
"Damn it!".
"My prince don't worry she hasn't turned yet. That means she haven't marked the Alpha. Their connection is not that strong. We can unmarked her using a good old spell".
"Then we shall proceed with the plan!".
LUKE'S HOUSE.
Selena ready herself to go to school. She went down and saw Luke sitting on the couch comfortably.
"What are you still doing here, aren't you going to work?". She was surprised to find him there sitting as if he is not busy and just waiting for someone or something.
"Nope and so do you".
"What do you mean, so do I?". She got confused with his words.
"You're not going to school your coming with me". Luke grab her and gave her a peck on her lips. Then drag her out of the house.
"Wait, where are we going?".
"Stronghold Village".
"Why?".
"You'll know when we get there".
Selena used her feet like a brake just to stop Luke from dragging her. "Can you just please give me a little hint why do I need to go to your parents place?". She tried to pull her arm from his grip but he is too strong for her.
"Because you need to talk to my parents". Luke stopped walking when Selena made an effort to stop him but he didn't let her go.
"Why do I need to talk to your parents. Aren't we going to keep it a secret?". Now she is in panic. Hearing she needs to go to see Avery and Luke's father, her knees wants to turn jelly.
"We will for other people but not to my family. There are things you need to know about me and my family". Luke gazed down on her. At his height he is totally towering her. He can clearly see the mix emotions on her face and makes him grin. 'So adorable!'.
"How about school and Mom?". She looked at him with a worried look on her eyes.
"I already informed your school".
"What did you tell them?". She got curious. She wonders what excused Luke made for her.
"That you're not feeling well". And a wicked smile formed on his lips.
"That's not fair".
"But you really don't feel well". Luke is teasing her. He loves to see her rosy cheeks every time she got teased.
Selena knows what he was saying but she just ignored it. Her cheeks are burning red. "How about Mom?".
"She called this morning. She said she will stay at your house today".
Selena sigh deeply. All of her excuses are gone. Luke already took care of them. She has no reason to say no now.
Luke noticed her silence. He put his one hand on her waist and the other on her face. Caressing her smooth cheeks.
"What are you afraid of?..... You've been there". Luke knows she is hesitant. "This is very important not only for me but for you as we'll. As a woman I want to marry and spend my life with. You need to learn every rules and also my FAMILY'S SECRET".
Selena was puzzled and also intrigued when he told her they have a family secret and he wants her to know it.
"Selena Moon, I love you from the first day I saw you but there are things you need to know about me". There's a hint of sadness and hope in his eyes.
Selena's heart aches. Seeing his sad eyes gazing at her. She used to see those in her eyes before but since Luke came to her life she never noticed them again.
"Okay". That's the only word she can think of.
