Slowly but surely, the gloom on her began to wash away, as the truth began to wash over.
"Yeah... I guess." Not forgetting to put on the appropriate voice, she answered.
"Uh-huh! The 'outside' practically lives for Satisfy, ya know!? People are fighting for the stocks of the S.A. Group, literally the richest organization in the world. And Lim Cheolho?----Shit, all he does is support the player's endeavors! Keeping away the governments of the world and their hands from tainting this beloved place."
Amidst all this information, all that went through Moon's head was, 'This guy is definitely geeking out.'
Not stopping, the infomercial continued.
"And did you see the tournament last year, and how incredible that was? How incredible they all were? Their strengths, their weaknesses, everything they've forged, put on screen?"
"Sorry to interrupt, but... why are you telling me?" Although she didn't feel as pressured as before, she didn't understand why the guy kept talking to her about Satisfy.
"Do you know how they got that strong?"
"Uh... with ti--"
"WITH TIME!" Rang his outburst.
"They put their time, their lives into the game. And you know what they got in return for their performance? Money! Repertoire! Connectiii~ons! They made this 'game' a job that they will forever enjoy."
There.
Crack!
Right there.
Craaaack!
It finally broke.
CRSSSH!
After hairline fracture and hairline fracture, the arrow carrying Godspeed's message broke through and struck something in Moonshine. Her adherence.
Specifically, her adherence to denying Satisfy from being something bigger than just a 'game.'
'Oh. I get it now.'
She enjoyed it. She enjoyed her life in Satisfy. It wasn't anything exhilarating, but she couldn't deny that most of her feelings awoke when she entered this world. But.
Real life had to come first. She had a job to do. A life to support. Money to earn. But realization finally set in. Sure, she could continue what she was doing. But maybe. Just maybe.
She could give some more time to her happiness.
"So you're telling me... that I should just let myself get immersed in the game, and enjoy it as much as I want, giving it the time I want?
Are you Crazy!?" Instead of gloom, foulness instead starting to creep into Moon.
"You're telling me to abandon a stable income for something that I have no guarantee I can be good at!? Be realistic here! These people that you are talking about have talent for these things. There's a reason they're at the top!"
"Haha... I mean, yeah... you got a point. But I'm not saying that you should go ahead and ditch your job or something! No no--- far from it, dude. I'm just saying that you should try to put more time into here: Into Satisfy. I'm not saying that you should be trying to get into the top 100 or anything, but I can tell that you enjoy this, this WORLD.
Just give it a chance."
.....
"You drive a hard bargain." Finally relenting, a slight smile grew on her face. "I suppose I'll think about."
Gleam! The pure white brilliance from God's teeth shone vividly as he aggressively patted Moon on her back.
[You've received 150 damage.]
[You've received 150 damage.]
[You've received 150 damage.]
"Uh, could you not?" she asked while shaking off his hand.
"What, you shy?" he mocked, still beaming.
"No; you're killing me," she replied, with a drop of blood flowing down her forehead.
"Ah. Sorry."
'Hah.' Although it would just make the bleeding worse, she went ahead and slapped her forehead, wondering once again why it was HIM that she was friends with.
----------
Finished with the chat, they both offered their thanks to the Sergeant, and made their way towards the gate.
"Well, now that we know what's going to happen from here on out, I'm going to go hunt."
"Huh? Why? Shouldn't we go ahead and start your training?" inquired Godspeed.
"While that would be great, I still want to progress and complete my current quest, so I can receive even more benefits when I finish the training," she responded.
"I seee~~. By the way: What exactly is the quest your received?"
"A Class change quest," she said with a smirk. "I'm going to a be Black Knight of the Empire."
"Woo~~w. Now that's mighty impressive. That's gotta be at least 'Rare' in the ratings. Will definitely give you an early boost. Oh; and what was your current quest again?"
"To become a Knight."
"Ooooh. Perfect chemistry then. No wonder you wanted to go hunt.
Hey; You want me to be your bus to give ya to an earlier start?"
"What? Of course not!"
'How insane is he to do that?' she couldn't help but wonder. 'That's valuable experience just down the drain!'
"Nope! it's better if I just do it myself."
"You sure you don't want any help?" he asked again.
"Completely," she affirmed. Saying this, they finally reached the gate.
"Alright then; see you tomorrow." And with that, he began walking off in his own direction.
'Oh yeah.'
"Wait! When do we meet up again, Godspeed?"
"Ahhh, no need to worry. You'll see me no matter the time you log in."
'Huh? but isn't he the one who complained last time about not making a time to meet up?'
"BYE!" Before she could speak any reason though, he spoke one word and set off.
"Assssshhh..." With a murmur herself, she set off on her own as well.
------
While on her walk, Moon got to some thinking again.
'I'm pretty confident on taking down three monsters today, but what about tomorrow? When should I log in?'
Ever since she got the capsule, she had a set schedule: Wake up, work, drink, TV, game, and sleep.
'Hmmm...'
"I can tell that you enjoy this, this WORLD." Repeat.
"...hehe. I guess I'll give it a chance." And with that, she put her sole focus on the monster coming into her view. The hidden smile on her lips, though, didn't leave.
