Chapter 74 - Too Lazy to Escape & Irregularity

Laying upon Lyra's soft, supple body; breathing in the sweet scent that escaped her panting mouth.

Adam felt a tiredness so fulfilling, that he felt he could rest in that very position for days.

Small, intimate movements accompanied their languid recovery; feeling, admiring each others perfect bodies.

Her hot breath stoked the embers of his desire: in the end, he was hardly satisfied and ready for another round.

Such was the tenacity and vitality of fiends.

The fire within him could never be fully satisfied, but as he looked up, past her silver hair and eyes, he saw the fading angle of the hellish light entering into the room.

Half of the day had been spent.

Time had slipped away; the early morning had started with Kaelgor's invasion, then he caught Lyra, and then he spent several hours… releasing his urges upon her.

Due to this, the portal, his key to everything, remained unfinished, with no progress.

Reluctantly, he pulled out of her with a soft, wet sound, and Lyra's gasp at the sudden emptiness.

He rose from his comfortable position, his form still glistening with a light sweat from all of his exertion: after all, he was the main one 'working'.

'I will make her do some of the work next time…' A subtle note was made as he glanced at Lyra's exhausted, yet pleased, face.

"The dimensional gate won't build itself," He stopped his erotic thoughts.

Adam looked down at her sprawled, debauched state.

"Your control and power are exceptional as a devil; it would be completed faster with your help."

Hearing his intention, Lyra just groaned, in utter exhaustion and satiation.

She managed to roll onto her side, turning her back to him, her naked body a soothing caramel-brown, beautiful curve against the darkened hides. Her movement made a fresh trickle of his seed escape her, sliding down her thigh.

She was spent and reveling in ecstasy; every muscle twitching and uncooperative.

"Pa!"

"Ehhh~"

Seeing her refuse in such a way, Adam smirked while delivering a sharp, stinging smack to her ass that made her jolt and yelp as one hand protected clenched her juicy ass.

Her tired and blaming gaze looked over her shoulder and onto Adam's figure. His gaze was almost lost into the silver ponds of beauty that rested in her gaze.

"…Rest then. I have work to do."

He needed to leave now, lest the sight of her prone, seductive body and tempting expressions made him enter another lengthy 'exercise' session.

Turning his back to her, he swiftly descended the steps attack runes room, his aura immediately shifting as he made his way back to work.

Glancing back his eyes found Agri and Blair, who had been anticipating and craving their masters touch. Their bodies were tense with neglect and jealousy.

"Girls," His voice cut through their silent brooding, "We're finishing the portal. Now! Your energy and focus are required."

They forcibly snapped out of their resentment at the order, but then he added, "Work well, and your diligence... will be rewarded tonight," His words a promise that tugged at their very cores.

The effect was electric!

Like a deer in front of a headlight, their eyes shot open with blazing enthusiasm.

Craving and severely unsatisfied, having been forced to watch their master unleash his attention on the new arrival without being able to join, the promise of a reward, was a potent reward.

Their envy was momentarily put aside in the face of benefits.

"Scheee~"

Almost in unison, their natural armor, obsidian-like plates for Blair and sleek black bone for Agri, slid over their nakedness with a soft, scraping sound, covering their forms as they moved to follow him with renewed, eager purpose.

Their shadows swiftly made their way down the kilometer high tower, just behind their master.

High on the platform, on the stone bed layered with leather, Lyra cracked open a single, silver eye. The sounds of their departing footsteps faded.

Suddenly, her mind sparked a thought.

The thought was a faint, lazy whisper in her blissfully fogged mind, 'If I wanted to escape... now would be the best time... they're all distracted.'

With her strength, as long as Adam wasn't at her side, then should could easily manipulate the shield to open and escape…

Interrupting her thoughts, her body had a full-body tremble; an aftershock of the pleasure Adam had planted deep inside of her. The memory of his handsome, ruthless face, the feeling of his muscular body rubbing against hers, the way he had utterly tore down her initial defiance and replaced it with ecstasy; it all flashed behind her eyelids.

"Yawn~"

She just groaned contentedly and nuzzled deeper into the furs; finding a more comfortable position. Her aching, well-fucked body felt heavy, deliciously sore, and utterly relaxed.

'Nah.'

The thought drifted away, unimportant, no longer relevant.

And for the first time since her rebirth, Lyra fell into a deep, truly peaceful sleep, safe in the heart of her captor's domain.

An unknowing victim to stockholm syndrome in hell's domain, within Adam's basin.

Within Lord Gorael's territory, near a mine.

The air in Kaelgor's war room was thick enough to taste: a stagnant mix of sulfur, ash, sweat, and the lingering scent of lesser devils who usually occupied it.

Now, it was empty, except for Kaelgor who knelt on the rough stone floor, his head bowed in reverence and in sullen, fearful humiliation.

Above him, floating in the air like six baleful moons, were the projected eyes of Arch Devil Gorael. They burned with a cold, ancient light, seeing through everything, judging the very essence of his soul.

"My Lord," Kaelgor's voice was a forced steady, mustering any semblance of respect under the Arch Devil's overbearing aura, "The newborn... Adam. His progress is... anomalous. The obelisk…"

He kept his report curt.

He spoke of the defensive rune and how it had withstood the full-force charge of his army and several devils without falling. He described the attack rune with residual awe; the beam of pure entropy and demonic mana that had flashed across his forces, vaporizing them in an instant.

"Its... a power," Kaelgor said hesitantly, "…that should not be possible for a Lesser Devil. A power that has no place in the 1st layer of hell. Its power violates the natural laws that rule over this domain."

Kaelgor deliberately omitted any mention of the female devil, Lyra.

Her loss was a personal failure, a sting to his pride that was his alone to bear.

The primordial yin of a mid-tier lesser devil was a precious trophy and resource for a devil like himself, but to an Arch Devil like Gorael, it was a triviality, a drop of water in an ocean.

The difference in their strength would mean that he would get basically nothing from 'consuming' her.

Mentioning it would only highlight his own incompetence.

The six eyes above him did not blink. They simply stared; the psychic weight of Gorael's contemplation pressing down on Kaelgor like a physical force. The silence stretched, only the low, infernal hum of hells active demonic mana adding a backdrop to the silence.

Within the depths of his faraway fortress, within another, deeper layer of hell, Gorael processed the information.

A power that breached the layer's restrictions... this was not merely interesting; it was potentially revolutionary!

His mind, filled with ancient cunning, saw the possibilities instantly.

A nexus point refined to such a degree, its output amplified beyond its station... if such a thing could be made mobile... then the possessor could wield a fraction of an Arch Devil's power within the 1st layer, unimpeded, unchallenged. They could cleanse the surrounding territories of rivals, command absolute loyalty, and harvest resources on an unprecedented scale.

But of course, the thought was a mere fleeting ember, quickly snuffed out by cold, hard reality.

The resources required to achieve such a feat would be astronomical.

To project oneself into hell's 1st layer already came with a small price. Then, when he had swiftly inscribed the most basic of runes on the nexus point, it had taken several powerful defensive and auxiliary artifacts to deal with the backlash…

It was a false dream, not a practical weapon.

And the greater, more immediate danger was the anomaly itself.

Like Kaelgor had said, such power didn't belong in the 1st layer.

Meaning, such an irregularity would not go unnoticed for long...
