Chapter 22 - VISIT

"Her Imperial Highness, Princess of Genry. Greetings!" All three men said in sync. "Lord Nash, and the soon to be High Priest Axis. We also welcome you to our tower."

Nodding their heads, finally the big gates of the tower slowly opened. Making screeching sounds that aren't that good for the ears.

Slowly walking inside the tower, Ashleah wandered her eyes around. Finally, seeing the gigantic wooden painted in gray door, Ashleah smiled.

'This is it. This is our starting point.' Taking a deep breath, the door slowly opened getting welcomed by different mages from children to elderly practicing their black magic.

"Welcome to our tower, please do refrain yourselves from touching anything that can cause you harm." said by one of the mages that welcomed them earlier.

An amazed gasp escaped Axis lips, making Nash and Ashleah look at him. He chuckled awkwardly and scratched his nape.

"Oh my, our child of God is excited isn't he?" The man in the middle said, making Nash and Ashleah squint their eyes and give him the cold shoulder.

"Can you please start the tour?" Nash quickly said, trying to avoid the topic that might open up if Axis answered the man's question earlier.

Both didn't want any issues, this visit/tour was really like throwing Axis inside is own death grave. Ashleah moved, making Axis in between the both of them.

"Wow, your highness. Look at that!" He excitedly said, making Nash shake his head while smiling. He was like a little brother to them.

"It's amazing right? How black magic works." Ashleah said, they were now walking up the gigantic stairs, that was painted in white and the handles were painted in black.

"Let us tell you this, for our first guests inside the tower." The man in the middle said with a smile as wide as his purple eyes. "We also discovered white magic users, that's why we changed some bits of the tower, as you can see."

He looked down, and they saw some black magic users painting parts of the tower with white. 'Oh, I didn't notice that earlier.' She thought.

"In Genry, we don't have that much White Magic Users, so we're still checking on them." Nash nodded, trying to sink in every detail that they were saying.

"You are indeed right about that." Axis said, he knew that there was some kind of questionable tension surrounding them, but he didn't know why.

"Well then, this is the library. You can go around, and then let's meet here at the entrance." The other man said, Ashleah quickly opened the door and was now welcomed by big shelves and a staircase for the second floor of the library.

"Wow! Nash, look at that!" Axis quickly dropped the honorifics when they were left all alone inside the library, but that doesn't mean they should let their guard down.

Looking around, Nash was trying to find if there was some kind of secret room inside their library. Like in the movies from the future that he watched.

"Axis, what's that?" Nash quickly looked back when he heard Ashleah, and there he saw Axis holding a gigantic book. Bigger than their heads! Ashleah was terrified and amazed by how big the book was!

"I just saw it, and it looks cool! Shall we read it?" He looked at them, Nash nodded his head. Curious of what secrets might the book hold.

Opening the book slowly, they were welcomed by letters that aren't familiar for them. Furrowing her brows, Ashleah was now more curious than ever!

"Oh my! Look at that, is that some kind of spell?" Axis said jokingly, trying to erase the tension. "Let's skip to the other page." He said, flipping to the book's 2nd page."

Flipping to the 2nd page, they were welcomed by weird drawings. Men wearing a white cape handshaking with men wearing a black cape.

"Do you... guys get it?" Nash asked, Axis and Ashleah nodded their heads. "Is this book about the history of the white and black magicians?"

The trio was excited, they quickly flipped the page and there saw a full page with words that they cannot understand.

Ashleah sat on the chair as she felt defeated. The princess thought that she that they will finally find some pieces that can help them find out who casted a spell on Axis.

"Wait, you two don't loose hope!" Axis gave them a reassuring smile. Making them chuckle, Nash stood up again and continued scanning the book with Nash.

"Ashleah.." Both said in sync, making Ashleah open her eyes. Nash slowly stood the book up, making Ashleah gasp.

The page has something written on it.

"The Black Magician's scheme is suprising."

Axis gulped, and slowly backed away from the book as he felt goosebumps around his body. His pupils weren't calming down.

As Axis backed down, Ashleah stood up and quickly held the book tightly, she gave Nash a look and he nodded.

"So this book was made by white magicians?" Nash whispered, Ashleah with her heart beating loudly nodded in response.

"Gosh, so White Magicians, up until now don't trust Black Magicians?" She gritted her teeth while whispering.

"We don't know, this book could've been made years ago." He said, massaging his forehead. Nash got more curious with what's inside the tower.

A few minutes passed and the Black Magicians were now at the library's door. "Did you enjoy reading the books here?" The man chuckled.

"Well, yes! I was curious with the books." Axis said, he giggled lightly. The black magicians just gave him a fake smile.

"Where are we going next?" Ashleah questioned the black magicians, The man with the purple eyes smiled.

"We are going to the top of the tower, you will see the beauty of the tower and what's below the tower." The man said, Ashleah was about to start walking when the three black magicians snapped their fingers.

"WHAT?!" Axis, Nash, and Ashleah shouted, and when they finally felt the ground beneath their feet. All exhaled a sigh of relief.

"Behold! The beauty of the tower!" Moving their heads around, they were at the top of the tower, there were clouds all around, you can see the trees below.

It was indeed beautiful. But then, the three magicians started laughing, Nash felt uneasy as he looked back.

"Oh shoot. What are you doing!?" Nash shouted at them, he quickly covered Axis and Ashleah.

"Wait, I don't think they're planning on anything—"

"AHHH!!!!!!!!" All of them shouted when they started to elevate from the floor. "Bring us down!" The trio said in sync.

"Please do not be scared!" The man with purple eyes laughed. Ashleah glared at him and quickly closed her eyes.

"Are you going to kill us?!" Ashleah shouted now covering her eyes using her palm.

As they felt they were slowing falling down, they were now shouting more loudly. Screaming their hearts out.

"Nash, I told you I DON'T WANT TO DIE TODAY!!!" Ashleah screamed, Nash was just shouting.

"Noo!!! AAAAA PRINCESS SAVE ME!!" Axis shouted, Ashleah furrowed her brows and screamed back at him.

"How can I even save you when I myself is falling!!!!"

But suddenly, they stopped falling and they felt they were lying down a soft foam.

Small giggles can be heard, Nash opened his eyes and saw White Magicians waving at them. He slowly tapped the two and they both looked at where the giggles where coming from.

"ARE YOU GO—" Nash quickly covered Ashleah's lips, for he knew what would come out from her lips.

Axis started laughing and clapping his lips, obviously having fun with their almost life and death situation earlier!

"We're sorry that we pulled a prank on you, this is our way in introducing ourselves." Four white magicians came out from the shadows as they smiled sweetly at them.

And with this, their visit ended.
