"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?" Prescottsaid with glaring eyes. The old Marquess avoided the unhappy bird, trembling lips and shaking eyes, he looked at the old Duke, obviously asking for help. Unfortunately, everyone avoided his scared gaze, he then again gave a look at the Emperor, but Emperor Adler just shook his head.
"Prescott, stop scaring him!" It felt like something inside his chest got pulled out when Ashleah quickly stopped the bird with flaming red eyes. "Calm down, I say!" She said. Prescott quickly stopped and flew closer to the Princess.
"Yes, your highness." The annoyed bird said while he quickly landed on the extended hands of his master. He then leaned a little, whispered to her right ear with eyes still staring at the old Marquess. "What are we going to do with that disrespectful man?"
"Father.. will take care of it." She said with a cheeky smile plastered on her face, then Prescott saw how the Emperor's brow twitched as he whispered to his butler before walking out.
"Princess Izel!" After hearing Axis' voice, Ashleah quickly looked around and saw the gleaming eyes of Axis, Nash with his confused and amazed face. Both were walking towards her. "Wait—" Axis suddenly stopped, making them confused. "—You.. uh,, won't hurt me right?"
Axis suddenly blurted out while looking awkwardly at Prescott making Ashleah laugh out loud, she quickly cleared her throat as she saw how her etiquette teacher with widened eyes looked at her. She then patted Prescott softly and gave them a look.
"Prescott won't hurt anyone, he only hurts people that have plans on hurting me, right Prescott?" She said, while looking at the proud pearl lavender colored bird.
"Yes! Please do refrain from looking down on your own Princess." He loudly said, clearly warning the other men or women that may try to harm her again.
"Princess, how did you meet the precious bird?" Nash blurted out, making everyone look at them. A small smirk appeared on her face for she knew that everyone inside this very place was confused and wanted something to gossip about.
"My, I never knew that Duke Deoncan would be curious about this—" She answered, clearly teasing the man. "—I met him in the forest, for further questions please do read the upcoming articles on the newspaper." She said before walking away.
Ashleah knew if she dared to talk about it right in front of everyone, it would be chaotic. Nash and Axis knew that too, it was a safe answer for her and for Prescott that can anytime attack someone that dares to hurt or do any harm to her highness.
As soon as she stepped inside the Palace, everyone went chaotic, Prescott flew behind while she was walking on her way to the emperor's office.
"Your highness! Where did you even meet the majestic bird!?" Nanny Riley asked, walking the same pace as Ashleah while wiping her sweat away using a white, clean towel.
"Nanny, don't be scared of Prescott." She then chuckled as another maid quickly walked the same pace as her, reaching out a cup of iced water to her. Being the thirsted woman she is, Ashleah quickly snatched the cup and drank all of it in one sip.
"Yes, please do not be scared of me." Prescott said with his gleaming sky blue eyes again. Ashleah shook her head with a chuckle. 'Is he using this as a trick? My, what a man.' The Princess thought.
Everyone stopped, Ashleah took a deep breath and gave her nanny a signal, meaning that she should now knock on the Emperor's office. Knocking on it, the door quickly swung open, revealing her Father taking a sip of his tea.
"Your Majesty, her highness Princess Izel has finally come." The butler announced, her father looked up and slowly puts the cup of tea back on the small table right in front of him and gestured his hand meaning that they can come inside.
"Please do come in, with the bird." the emperor said, and with that Ashleah and Prescott got inside, the door clicked. There was only the three of them inside the very room.
Prescott quickly roamed around, trying to find a perfect place where he can just sit down and relax. Sitting in front of the sofa where the emperor was, Ashleah chuckled.
"Father, I'm sorry. Were you shocked by this?" Ashleah said as she sat down beside Prescott. The bird continued to look around, obviously amazed with how elegant the office was.
"I am quiet shocked, Father told me that there was someone always watching you before he died. I never knew that someone was the known bird in the Celeste Tribe before." He said as he gave the bird a meaningful look.
"Oh! Your majesty did some investigating, I see. That was quiet fast your majesty." Prescott said, the bird was now hooked with the current topic.
"I say, with the power you hold Black and White magicians would probably surround my daughter all the time." The emperor said with a very unhappy expression, he bit his lower lip and with squinted eyes he continued to look at Prescott.
"I do know that there may be possibilities that those things might happen. Her highness is now my new master, I will protect her at all costs, and I will also protect myself from people that may harm me. That is why our elders from the Celeste Tribe did everything for us to learn about the human world."
"Pardon my intrusion, but can I ask a question?—" She then waited for both of them to nod their head, Ashleah's mind was in clear chaos now that both were talking about things that she couldn't understand. "—What are you talking about?"
Both chuckled after hearing the princess' question. "Almost a hundred years ago, the Celeste Tribe was known for being powerful and loyal to their masters." Her father answered her, on the other hand, Prescott nodded his head and continued.
"Elders in my tribe always knew that people can be greedy, but we never expected them to be this greedy. A few years passed and after finding about our powers, they went for the tribe's forest and that started our fight. We were unaware of what might happen that very night. Not ready for the surprise attack, and tried protecting the small babies elders got killed. Babies were kidnapped. And I, flew away."
Prescott's eyes held sadness, he then again sighed and continued talking. "The babies soon then started to die out since they still don't know anything about the world. I was the only one left in our tribe. Until I met the last emperor, I first then thought that he may be one of those greedy nobles I told you earlier. Fortunately, he wasn't. He gave me a home, I then said that I want to serve him, he only gave me a smile and told me that 'But please, after that guard my granddaughter.' he said with a smiling face."
"Father loves my daughter too much." Emperor Adler chuckled as he took another sip of his tea. Ashleah's eyes looked down as she started fidgeting her fingers, the feeling of sadness and loneliness started to build up right inside of her. She felt like she wanted to thank her grandfather in some sort of way but she doesn't know how.
"Look how much her highness have grown, I also sense that she's going to have a suitor soon as well." Prescott said teasing the young lady.
"My! Prescott, I guess you are right about that!" Both men started laughing, making the princess annoyed. She pouted her lips and looked at the both of them with her puppy eyes.
'Ah this is embarassing.' She thought. "I never knew that annoying me was your new hobby." Ashleah said crossing her arms against her chest.
Prescott was about to answer when they heard a knock behind the gigantic doors of emperor Adler's office.
"Your Majesty, It is I, Duke Deoncan."
A smirk suddenly appeared from both of the men's faces. "Speaking of suitors." Prescott said.
