Chapter 74 - WORTH FIGHTING FOR

"Are you sure that I should not go?" Emperor Adler, asked his daughter again for almost the 100th time! Ashleah on the other hand chuckled as she tied her hair into a ponytail.

"Father, you should not go for this situation is not safe for you. The Empire needs you." Ashleah smiled and faced her Father before hugging him tightly. "Father, stay inside and be safe."

"I will, you too Ashleah." Emperor Adler smiled and slowly caressed his daughter's hair before hugging her tightly the same amount of strength Ashleah was giving him.

With that, Ashleah was walking her way outside the Imperial Palace. A poker face plastered on her face, she did not even dare to let anyone stop her for she was currently making plans inside her mind while walking.

The minute she stopped walking was because she saw Nash, holding the necklace that she haven't seen for months tightly in front of the knights with the magicians and Cason that were waiting for Ashleah.

Seeing that familiar necklace, shining brightly with the color of red. Nash trying his bst to hide it with a smile even though his eyes held terror making Ashleah felt shivers down her spine. As the necklace shined yet again oh so brightly, catching the attention of Cason.

In a state of panic, Ashleah quickly walked to them and smiled. "Shall we go and help them.with the back up?" Everyone looked at her and was about to bow, but before they can do, Ashleah smiled at Cason. Both opened their palm. "Tha half is yours–" pointed at the other half on the left. "This half is mine." pointed at the other half on the right.

"Well then, let's not make them wait any longer for back up." With that magic spread all around them, making then teleport quickly to the plaza where the attack was still currently on going.

-----------------

The teleportation was a success yet– as soon as they arrived the plaza was a mess. Crying families, trying to find where their kids where running everywhere. Persons who had disabilities were crying and mourning for help.

Ashleah felt the rage of anger deep inside her, yet she shook her head taking those thoughts away from her mind. Nothing good will come if you let anger eat you slowly. It might make the situation worse.

"Cason, the Magicians that you have who heal let them help those persons who are currently injured and needs help. Let them spread and help. I will be making a shield for them and keep them safe inside it." Ashleah said, which Cason quickly agreed to deal with.

The Princess flew up high above the ground as the knights started to attack the minions that were probably normal human beings that were sent by the black magicians. She then made a shield where they can let the survivors rest and will be healed by the white magicians.

Yet, she was sure. The plaza won't be in this kind of state if there weren't any black magiciand around. Looking around with furrowed eyebrows, she squinted her eyes and released her magic as soon as she saw another black magician from the ground that was about to blast her off.

"ARGH!" The Black Magician screamed and groaned as he smoothly avoided the attack from Her Royal Highness. "Damn, this little wench." He whispered, not knowing that behind him was the known Duke for now for his blessed sword.

Nash gripped on his sword tightly as it released the purple blackish smoke that everyone makes sure not to flame on his sword. Without even knowing it Nash was about to swiftly injure the magician, yet he quickly attacks Nash.

The good thing was, due to his trainings the Duke avoided the attack smoothly before smiling and swaying his sword just to make the magician more shock– Nash cuts the magic in half making it split within the thin air.

"Please do not look down on me just because I am powerless. I can still fight and face you off with a blink of an eye." Nash smirked at the black magician, making the man irritated to its core.

Ashleah giggled and quickly flew her way trying to find where the man who started the attack was hiding. Base on the informations about the knight that reported them what happened– a high rank black magician was under disguise and attacked the plaza out of nowhere.

"Where the heck is he hiding?" She whispered as she gritted her teeth, getting a little impatient with finding where the high rank black magician was. "Ah. Found you."

Ashleah quickly released an attack to the man who was at the corners, trying to act like he was another normal black magician, but Ashleah felt like there was something more to the man trying so hard to blend in.

The man with pitch black hair and a pair of blue eyes looked at her with so much irritation, avoiding the attack from her using a shield that he created in just a few seconds. Ashleah hissed. She knew it, she knew from the start that this– will never be easy.

Ashleah was about to blow him off, but he quickly makes a move and attacks Ashleah before flying away from her. Good thing that Ashleah was always practicing on how to dodge attacks that she almost mastered it.

Meanwhile, Nash completely knocks out the black magician he was battling with a little earlier. He sighed and brushed his hair up. He looked down and saw the bracelet shining brightly red, making him gulp. About to run towards Prescott, he suddenky transported making his heart beat uncontrollably.

His eyes held horror, widened, gaping for air. As he watched how he saw a woman with her child, hugging the child oh so tightly, crying, pleading for the black magician not to kill them.

"Please! Not my son! Do not kill him! H-He has dreams!" The mother pleads out, it felt suffocating that Nash could not even do anything even tho he tried to push the black magician away. It was an effort that was all for nothing.

The Black Magician was about to attack them but suddenly, Nash who was trying to swing his sword screaming NO! hits the attack and slashes it into thin air.

Making him, the black magician, the mother with her son confused and speechless to where he came from. Nash's had his eyes wide open, but he knew that this was not the time to act all surprised.

"Better run away or I'll knock you out." He said, giving them shivers down their spine. As he saw how slowly the red light from the necklace faded away. This was his first time– saving a life.

-----------------

"ARGH!!" The two men groaned loudly as soon as Axis came inside the dungeon, where they were staying as the magic glass which Ashleah created disappeared out of nowhere.

"I AM TELLING YOU! I WAS PAID TO GET THE PRINCESS–" Axis opened up his palm and shook his head, sighing deeply.

"You were paid or not, you do know what you did to the Princess and you harmed a Prince, was wrong. I am here to look inside your minds. Emperor's order."

A few weeks ago, Axis needed someone to remember what he saw while looking inside someone else's mind but as he started to train and practice he does not need anyone anymore for when he tries to read someone's mind and see their latest memories, he remembers it not like when he was a started in using his own magic.

As his eyes went white, he opened up his palm abive their heads as slowly he saw the earliest memories they both had. Axis knew for a fact that everything is WORTH FIGHTING FOR.
