Rhea helped me up and sat me down leaning against a tree. "I forgot you don't work out. You barely have a flat stomach and any muscles even. You're so weak," Rhea stressed. She went over to where she left her bag and pulled out a heating pack.
"You do realize it's literally been 15 minutes? Almost 20 minutes that we're here training just your dodge movements and you're already down," she glared. I decided to ignore what she's saying because I know what she implied isn't exactly what she said and that she's speaking facts.
She put the heating pack on my thighs, using the minimal amount of magic to make it a little cooler so it doesn't burn me. She pressed on it and moved it around, somehow, lightly massaging my thighs. It feels a little better but it still hurt and I could feel my muscles getting slightly tighter. I haven't had this feeling since high school!
She passed me my water bottle, "drink and take some rest, I wanna train my thighs," she said. She left me with the heating pack and water bottle as she went to another tree, squatting and almost punching the tree. Her movement control is so well that she is punching the tree without touching the tree while squatting at that.
I used my palm to hit my thighs lightly, thinking it will loosen the muscles but it didn't really work or I just can't feel the results. I placed my head on the trees and shut my eyes, allowing darkness to enclose me for a little while.
'You know, I agree with Rhea, you need a lot of training,' my guardian angel said. I rolled my eyes internally. 'I'll help you feel just a little better so you can continue,' she told before I could feel my thighs getting warmer. It helped me a little.
"Hey, get up. Time to get back to training," I heard Rhea said as she nudged my shoulder. I opened my eyes to see she's no longer at the other tree but right in front of me. She reached out her hands to help me get up to which I gladly accepted. I yelped as my muscles tightened.
She squats down but with her arms on her thighs. Her hand held together, "do this or 15 minutes. I'll do it with you."
I gulped and positioned myself to follow what she did. I looked down to avoid eye contact with her as I tried to keep myself up. "Relax, don't force so much strength onto your hands, you're gripping so hard I could see your blood vessels almost bursting," she snickered.
I relaxed my hands and I took a glance at her. She's just staring at me. I looked away immediately, "can you not stare at me? It's really awkward."
"How else would I see what you're doing wrong if I don't look at you?" she asked. Well, she's not wrong. "But I think if you worked out a little more, you'd look good," she commented.
I rolled my eyes, "that's a little materialistic, don't you think?" I snorted. She chuckled at that, "I mean, I'm just saying, don't take it the wrong way."
After what feels like forever, I was honestly gonna give up. My legs are getting numb, beads of sweat forming and dripping, my arms looked so moist and I bet my hair is soaked. "How long more?" I whined.
"Well, we'll be done in two more minutes," Rhea said, looking at her watch. I nodded and looked at her. Her sweat seems to form way quicker than mine and one was about to fall right into her eye. "Rhea, the sweat is gonna go into your eye!" I quickly warned.
"I'm a spirit, sweat doesn't sting my eyes," she said almost laughing at my reaction. "Well, I'm sorry, just human instincts, you know?" I awkwardly said.
"I got it, definitely not because you worry about me, got it," she teased. I raised my eyebrow and looked away. Just then, her alarm went off, indicating that we're done. I immediately let loose and fell back, leaning back against the tree.
Rhea, however, stood up with ease and stretched. "You should stretch when you're done to loosen your muscles," she advised. She lent me a hand and helped me up. I pulled my arms as far as I can to stretch.
"I think that's enough for you today, even though it's not even been an hour, you look so worn out," she pointed out. I rubbed the back of my neck with a cheeky grin.
She took a seat on the grass and pulled out two containers from her bag. She pat the empty space beside her implying for me to take a seat as well, "I made breakfast before you woke up let's have it here and chill for a while before heading down.
"Sounds good to me!" I chirped excitedly. Finally, I've been waiting for this for a really long time! Well, it's just been a few hours since the bread but that's beside the point. I plop myself down beside her and she passed me the container.
I opened it and a pleasant warm pasta smell filled my nostrils. Rhea also passed me a fork which I happily accepted, "don't just stare at the food, you're not a Chinese ghost to be able to fill yourself with the smell of food, you know."
I chuckled excitedly. I've not eaten pasta in so long, especially a homemade one. Well, I doubt this was homemade but it's the closest it can get. I took a huge bite and smiled. "Are you sure you made this?" I teased to which she responded with an offended look.
"Do you think I've not learned how to cook after thousands of years?" She frowned. I put my fork down on the container and pinched her nose, "I'm kidding, it's good."
She opened her mouth and bit down towards my fingers that I pulled away quickly and laughed. "Do you think you're a dinosaur or something?" I said laughing slightly.
"Well, I am not but I will be a monster if you keep teasing me!" she barked and pressed her elbow down on my lap, making me yell in pain.
"Ow! Ow! Stop! Rhea, stop please! I'm sorry!" I yelled putting down my container to try to yank her arm off my lap. She took off her arm, "you better be sorry!" She warned showing her tongue.
"Such a small kid," I muttered underneath my breath and took my container of pasta. Her ears perked up, "what did you say?"
I looked at her and smiled sheepishly, "I said you're cute as a small kid." She raised her eyebrow and nodded slowly, believing in the words I've said, and decided to let it go.
