Chapter 24 - °Twenty-Four•Move!°

Shrieks fill my ears, waking me up from the dream I had where I met my guardian angel after what seems like forever. My hands flew to my face, rubbing it in distress and gently pressing down onto my eyes. A sharp pain shot to my arms as it fell to my sides. "Wait, Arran, you can move your arms!"

My head snapped towards Kyra who looks at me with slight glimmers in her eyes. I didn't even realize she was there in the first place. I tried moving my arms again. Putting all the energy I have into getting it to move, I could only raise it up to my face before it falls down to my sides. "It hurts a lot to move, but I can move it a little," I said after moving it around a little.

Kyra laughed happily and clapped like a little kid, "that's good news, you're healing!"

I could only force a small smile towards her way to appreciate her enthusiasm for my healing. I think my guardian angel had something to do with this if I'm honest. Speaking of her, one thing really got me thinking, if she really was here, then how did she get here when she was blocked before?

"Kyra, did anything happen last night?" I asked her, trying to get any sort of clues on how my guardian angel could reach out to me. Her laughter dies down slowly and she sighed. "Yesterday, the power went out and a lot of chaos happened, you're probably the only one who slept through that. It lasted for a few hours before it was fixed."

Does that explain how my guardian angel could reach out to me? Maybe? Maybe not. But it's a clue I guess. Is it because of the electric fence that she's not able to get in with me? I mean spirits can't really get past electric forces because it will make them weak and possibly disappear. Is my guardian angel considered a spirit then if she's not able to pass through?

"Right, you should focus on just recovering, don't worry about anything else," Kyra spoke after a moment of silence and burst out into a fit of laughter. I nodded slightly in response and she took a seat beside me, as usual, bringing pieces of bread to my mouth. It's always bread and only one mid-sized piece per day with a cup of water. I don't know how sane people can take it.

My stomach growled as I was fed another small piece. "I'm sorry, Arran, you are suffering here with all of us, it's not easy but I'm sure someday we'll escape," Kyra said after feeding me a piece of bread. I have to escape as soon as possible to save Rhea because she's getting it worse than I am.

"I have to escape. Someone who has been protecting me now needs me to save her," I said determined as I was fed the last few pieces of bread. "Who is this person?" Kyra asked curiously and handed me a cup of water, "can you hold the cup?"

I tried taking the cup but my hands started to shake uncontrollably. I almost spilled some water on myself. Luckily, Kyra grabbed the cup back from me and fed it to me instead. Yeah, I had my dignity down so I can live for another day and make sure I don't die of starvation.

After the final sip, I looked at Kyra and thought about her question. I heaved a huge sigh as I try to hold back my tears. I blink them away, not wanting to seem weak in front of Kyra.

"Well, I was blessed by a spirit as you know. She wasn't allowed to bless a human, well no spirits are allowed but she did it anyway for some reasons that I can't fully explain yet because I'm unsure about some things as well. However now she is held captive in the spirit world because she blessed me and she's getting tortured for it," I said. I didn't know I was even holding my breath when I let it go.

She placed a hand on my lap to give me moral support, I'm guessing. I put my head on the wall, "I need to save her because she's currently very weak because of the torture."

"I'm sorry, we'll save her, I'll go save her with you, I don't have any other purpose anyway," She spoke softly and sympathetically. I nodded slightly.

She tapped on my lap a few times and stood up, "I'll take my leave, for now, I'll be back as usual tomorrow."

I watched as her silhouette leaves the room and the door closed shut leaving me alone in my own world again. The smell of the room doesn't bother me anymore, I've gotten used to it.

The vision of Rhea being chained replays in my mind as I choked out some cries and beads of tears starts to form and slide down the side of my cheeks. Her screams are what I couldn't bear to listen to. I need to get out, no matter what happens, I will get out.

I closed my eyes, trying to block out the noises from outside the room. I can't even sleep back, I don't feel tired at all but I feel numb and torn. I pushed myself to bring my hand up to wipe away my tears.

If I can't do anything but heal at this moment then I will meditate to make my soul stronger. I stopped myself from crying over Rhea with the determination that is boiling and building inside me. I took a few deep breathes and calmed myself down as much as I could as start to clear my mind.

Pushing away every single thought feels like physically pushing a metal box that weighs about 500 kilograms. They wouldn't budge from my mind. Every thought and regret regarding Rhea is stuck in my mind as I try so hard to throw them away.

I shut my eyes harder, thinking it would help me focus on one thing only. My hands slowly made their way to my ear to cover them. Trying to block out every single noise and people's voices while pushing thoughts away. I shook my head as I could feel darkness inching closer and closer towards me. Black and blank space engulf me into a never-ending void.
