Chapter 1442 - 1441. Spear Hand of Athena

When it came to enchanting the souls, Seth followed the established pattern for the right gauntlet. On the dominant hand, he concentrated effects that improved attacks, and chose Basic Olympian Attack as the soul enchantment.

On the left, he veered from the general direction of the armor. So far, he had tried to use purely Olympian enchantments, except for the forging ballads. But for the left gauntlets soul, Seth had decided on the Minor Sigil of Slaughter, which was attributed to Maahes.

The reason was quite simple: he was of the opinion that Monique had enough dexterity at this point and could use something that would improve her attack further. With all that attack speed, she wouldn't have a hard time raising the effect if she ever got in a situation where it was needed.

He felt a little conflicted about it, but it was proven that Olympians and Heliopolians had a certain affinity, so it was probably okay. Carving the Sigil into the souls took a little more focus, but finished quicker than Basic Olympian Attack.

The sun outside was setting when Seth finally reached the point that he could infuse the two soul gauntlets into their bodies. The girls in the back gasped when the Water of Styx appeared as a massive bubble that swallowed the gauntlets from his hands.

Seth listened to the familiar notifications as the gauntlets shone in a benign light. They had been reborn as special items. Especially Monique's eyes were filled with excitement as he received the gauntlets from the water bubble.

"Let's see what we got here," mumbled, finally appraising the fresh gauntlets.

A Couple of things were re-branded, but the improvements were marginal. What was worth mentioning about the changes on the right gauntlet was "Athena's Curses". In addition to Pandora's troubles, the effect now could also cause Athena's curses, as in the punishments the goddess gave in various myths.

The curses of Athena encompassed effects like resource burn, blindness, transformation into a spider, and madness, among others. Especially the turning into animals effects were an interesting addition, and Seth was looking forward to how that would play out.

A few more things happened on the left gauntlet. Minor Sigil of Slaughter went through a rebranding, becoming Athena's Sigil of Slaughter. The requirement for the stacking of additional damage had changed. Instead of kills, the wearer now only needed successful strikes against a hostile.

It fit very well with the overall changes and effects on the left gauntlet. However, it fit even better to the new active skill . For one minute, every hit would raise attack speed and damage by 5%. It was like a mix of the sigil and dexterity effects.

The potential of just these few skills stacking alone was already promising. Considering there was no limit to , except for the duration, it was close to terrifying. How many hits could someone get in, who had their attack speed multiplied several-fold?

"Here you go," the blacksmith finally handed Monique her glistening new gauntlets. Now, the Regalia of Athena was only missing one part: The Aegis. The chosen of Athena received the second-to-last parts of her new armor with huge, glistening eyes.

Everything was coming together. Finally, the base armor was complete, and Seth was able to see the full picture in reality instead of the blueprint skill. Monique looked like the version of something like an Olympian space warrior in her full silver armor that was mostly plate.

"Thank you..." she whispered in awe. Her face lit up even more when she put on the gauntlets and felt the power flow through her. As she was trying them on, Seth started relaying the specs to her, but since she could see many of the effects, there was not a lot he had to explain.

"You have about a day to get used to everything. Do you think that is enough?" Mina asked, having made the experience herself. It was not too long ago that she received a full new set that replaced her old one. The only difference was that Mina had no divine sugar daddy. Fin had Bes, but that guy had been stingy with materials.

"I already trained a little with the rest. It might be hard to adapt to the skills of the gauntlets in a day, but overall, it should be fine," Monique said with an appreciative smile.

"Well, it has gotten late. We should go get some sleep now. You can practice all day tomorrow," Seth suggested, for them all to go rest for the night. The ship had several comfortable bedrooms, more than enough to house everyone.

"Ybsericht, I'm glad you were able to make it," Leana greeted the famous seer and mind reader. It had taken a while for them to finally reach Urth, owing to their stressed relationships with Spatia and Chrona at present.

"I'm honored the Lady would invite me in her time of need," the seer complimented her humbly.

Ybsericht was an enigmatic figure, known for over two centuries. Since they first appeared, they always wore a sun and moon mask, making the crowd guess their age and gender. There were many truths and rumors about their various deeds, but only one thing was certain:

Although they had a long life so far, they were not a legend. Many suspected they had chosen a unique path that made it incredibly hard to advance, but if they succeeded... the outcome would be at least legendary. Some even murmured that they were building the foundation for a myth.

"Who else could I call, if it is about revealing the secrets of legend?" Leana joked a little.

Although their information network in Spatia and Chrona was sparse, it was not like they had no idea about the background of Spatia's attack. However, when Ybsericht really succeeded in revealing the backer and their secrets and brought clarity, they would have a justified cause to move against Spatia.

Clear knowledge and evidence would be the shield against interference from other powers across the system worlds. Nobody would stand up to complain, even if they ultimately used legends to fight Spatia.

There was also a profit to be made from the other secrets the legends held. People in their position had hidden riches and top-secret info that would not only help them invade Spatia but also make a profit while doing so.

"It seems you prepared a little practice for me?" Ybsericht suddenly asked. Leana didn't know whether they read the room or the future.

"It is no big request, just something that came up spontaneously," the princess said apologetically, and a couple of hours brought the bound demon at her signal.

"One of our members was attacked by this demon during the expedition to a foreign world. She captured it, and it seems to be part of a bigger faction. I hoped you might be able to demonstrate your skills before we move on to the main dish," she explained the situation.

"Hmm, very well. I will see what I can glean from this one," they said, and a hand covered in a ring appeared from the sleeve and grasped the demon's face. The demon's orifices started shining with the gray light of an unknown power.
