CHAPTER 211
Aradria's eyes sharpened.
The hand she had earlier held out in expectation—open, elegant, queenly—slowly curled into a tight fist, as if she were choking someone with her bare fingers.
The air obeyed her.
The atmosphere around Calixta convulsed, tightening instantly. Invisible bands wrapped around her throat, crushing down in a suffocating grip. The pressure stole her breath before panic could even rise.
Calixta clawed at her neck, tears springing to her eyes as her lungs searched desperately for air that no longer belonged to her.
Aradria's voice vibrated with controlled fury. "Did you know," she said through gritted teeth, "how the Wolf King chose to inform me about Tyla?"
After two decades of silence, their youngest sister, after she chose to leave with Calixta, then just found out that she ended up with the wolves. Again. She thought Tyla was done being involved with them after giving her immortality. But she still didn't learn her lesson.
