Chapter 114 - Chapter 114 Finished

The sounds of fire, dust flying in the air past her head she leaned against the wall listing to the voices arguing behind the enchanted white walls seem to have curls of gold covering them every time Shai glanced at it, catching the swath of gold luster came of the door, Shai observed it turning dark before blinding her, Shai covered her eyes the light flashed again she could see through her squinting the stark white that went through her fingers when it all went away, it was dark around her even for the light in Olympus, casting a shadow over her, Shai moved her hand looking at the door Arts old room covered in leaves that tried not to turn gold the wood rots at her feet that grew in the marble emporium. Cold trailing around it from the burst of dust coming from the room. The marble around the door, changed lines seared into door frame that once decorated under her, she watched it fade then come back once, there was not so subtle cursing in greek she heard from the other side which made her reminisce on the younger days of her childhood, hearing that from the bookshelves and her father cursing the same back, Shai sighed leaning back on the wall feeling the power pulsing against her back, it was so bad it made her bounce off the wall as they tried the spell again the gold glow brighter and dark all at once encompassed the door into the hallway Shai was in,

"There at it again that spell is fickle," Shai huffed

She stood into the hallway her eyes stayed on that door even when the hallway trembled from a new power coming through the hallway appearing through the marble ground, taking its shape before a scaly head and feathers popped out of the marble iridescent eyes poked through scanning around until it lands on her, the eyes squinted before the long serpent body tears the floor under them, Shai turned looking at the serpent eyes confused but seeing the serpent show itself she smiled, her hand begins her head staring up at the giant creature, leaning back she whistled,

"So how was I checking on my friends?" Shai inquired

Querzalcoatla tilted down to her his nose breathed a harsh gust of wind to her, Shai smile grew, staring at the serpent, hearing a frustrated sigh coming him, his head tilted to the right, thinking of the conversation with the two human asking so many questions, only to be scurried, Querzacoatla huffed his eyes loomed over Shai,

"They were scared to say the least, I made a shield to protect them from the figures from Dalos and they were frightened, Ares and Athena helped the best they could explaining,"

Shai looked down at the broken ground seeing the ower off olympus healing the marble floor, she watched repair itself and half unconsciously asked,

"Did this happen while visiting my friends?"

Querzalcoatal glanced at the remnants of the ground spread around them, marble large and small repaint back into the ground, the serpent looked back at Shai his mind drift back to when he appeared in the soil of earth breaking it apart and went back as it was, Querzalcoatal nods slightly his eyes drifting over the healing ground once more before it was fix, to Shai finding that she was watching it with him,

"I did, it was the only cause of protection I could give them other than in the air, it made a warning in the ground one that looked like old aztec glyphs. It was a protection i thought they could hadel," Querzalcoatla expressed his tail moved to the side waiting for Shai reproach eyes flickered over to the door she was close to, the light from the engravings the faint conversations and spells coming from the other side of the door, He hears Shai's calm but serious,

"There still not used to this weird supernatural shit, they don't think a giant snake coming out of the ground was saying there here to protect you is…weird to them frightening," Shai explained,

Querzalcoatla chuckled, thinking over a selected sentence from her, weird supernatural shit, that's what she thought this of? Weird. He could see that way from a smaller being perspective, the part she wasn't all wrong about that talking about it so rash was refreshing,

"I see that is why they were hesitant with me even with Ares and Athena, the young man was more used to us, frightened maybe but still had the courage to ask us, the older more refined woman her name Judy, she was shaken obviously but tried to understand what we have done, they were more accommodating than I have thought," Querzalcoatla added his eyes stayed on her catching the gold dust coming off the door the walls of the hallway,

"Nice to see they haven't lost their spirit…Eurus he asked where I was?" Shai inquired

"He has i didn't think he would stop but Ares halted him,"

The serpent stopped and the ground rattled under them. Shai turned, glancing at the door, seeing the engraving of the spell bouncing off the door and the walls like it was living. The engraving didn't fade as it had the last time, it grew larger until it reverberated the heat of the lines etched in the marble, keeping it there. Shai and Quezalcoatla heard Artimus through the underlying sound of the spell, it wasn't a curse they were used to hearing from that room that morning. It's a relief that voice bounced through that hallway into Olympus, Shai smiled freely, her eyes brightened in unnatural light that glowed in them now. A smile that now turned into a full blown grin, hearing Artimuse and Apollo bickering behind the door with Aspesius laughing heartily, Quezalcoatla tilted closer to the bright woman, its eyes changing color as it leaned in,

"Is the spell finished?" The serpent asked its eyes flickering to her, Shai glanced at him, and her grin faltered, her hand limp at her side feeling the slight burn from the familiar spell. It went over her body to her feet the burn sang with it, Shai peered at the serpent she nods,

"From the sound of it they are the way my blood is singing from it. They finished it, i just wonder when they will come out and tell us,"

"The could be trying it again seeing if there was any hindrances," Quezalcoatla hummed its tail curled around Shai its eyes left her to stare at the spell, it shined so bright it burned Shai's skin before hearing through the door, the low beaming voice,

"It's stable working for Olympus, on a bigger scale it should work in theory."

Art, that was Artimuis voice explaining to Apollo fro what Shai and Quezalcoatla heard, Apollo hummed and they see the spell hummed the lines glowed again, Shai backed away and Quezalcoatla curled his tail around Shai tighter protecting her from the heat, he glanced at her and spake,

"How have you been leaning on the wall waiting for them to be finished?"

"After the table i went to my room they made be eat and the those three started my room shaken beaming with heat i decided to wait out here"

Shai explained covering her eyes, she still tried to look at the serpent and lean his head down, giving her a shadow to look through. She saw the door it held the ruins of the spell hearing Apollo's voice cut through it,

"We need her to try, see if she can reenact the spell before we even think of setting it around the worlds,"

Shai felt the burn hissing against the scales she watched as the heat scorned it, but the serpent did not as much as hiss he stared down at her, with a slight smile, its eyes soften observing the small human with reverence. Until they felt the room door open a blinding heat came through and they hear rushing water flood their senses, the wind casting it breeze on the crashing against them, Shai heard a chuckle that was familiar,

"I see you waited out here Shai just like old times,"

Art walked through that bright door, her eyes finding them instantly, she smiled, tiered her hand holding onto a piece of parchment, her body tight with fatigue. She saw Quezalcoatla protecting Shai from the harsh heat even though he didn't need Shai to be with them now. Shai tried to stare at her only for the blaring light from the room stopped her, shielding her eyes Art noticed she shut the door behind her hearing Apollo and Asclepius behind it talking of the spell planning on where to test it next, Shai looked up seeing Artimus, she still looked strong but a slight dark hue under her eyes, her hand gripping the parchment twitched every so often, her skin that glowed tanned now was pale. Art clicked her tongue, starting to glare at Shai,

"You should have been resting, Shai, you're still recovering from the healing process." Art emphasized walking closer to them and reached out, touching Quezalcoatla's tail feeling the indents from the heat subtle healing under her palm, she stared at it for a second when she hear the sarcastic remark from behind the tail,

"Could say the same thing to you Art you look like you had an all week session with the books again,"

Art gave her a look, don't push it Shai, that's what it told her. Shai smiled leaning over Quezalcoatla's tail closer to Art, scanning over her mentor once more.

"YOu look just like last time, it just this isn't about hot fae lords making a human high fae, but it was good nonetheless," Shai added

Art glared got worse as her hand moved the tail of Quezalcoatla, her face stilled from the smile from before, Quezalcoatla let out a stunned grunt its eyes scanning over them,

"Whatever Shai insinuated has peeved Artemis off, I've seen her like this before when ever there was a needless fight, Athena and Ares don't butt heads, when they do its cataclysmic" Quezalcoatla thought his head shifting away from them seeing the light shift off of them, one of moon light drifting off the trees, another a blazer sun a gold glow of the summer, Artemis stretched her hand to Shai the parchment shined like Artemis but it held Apollo and Asclepius power as well, the well spring of olympus seemed to pour out of it, falling away from it but not disappearing, it stayed around them, fortunately attracted to the strong pull coming from them, the parchment tipped closer to Shai almost knocked out of Artemis grip like it tried to jump from one powerful grasp into another. More preferred the one it over for then the other, Artemis didn't look at it not reacting for Shai she placed the piece of mythical parchment lean out of Art's hand into Shai, they watched the exchanged with different reactions, Artemis tried to not make a reaction, to show what she was thinking, but couldn't stop a small smile that placed on her lips,

"So the spell is drawn to her? That worked out more nicely than I proseved." Artemis pondered. Letting go of it her hand fell to her side, observing the skeptical before her. Shai grabbed it and the ting went up her arm a blinding shining up the arm Shai felt it sing, her blood mixed with it, feeling familiar. Strong so strong it made her body tingling. Shai held it, scanning over the parchment. There were the patterns on her body from before that burned under her, but the small text under it caught her attention in Greek, Shai tried to read it but the words seem to mix together into one blurry sentence. Shai moved it taking the parchment in front of her, the worst glowed like the sun beaming down in through a scrap of trees. Shai's eyes winced, trying to read the inscription only for it to shine brighter, blinding her,

"How am I supposed to read this if it's trying to blind me?" Shai said, turning her head away, the side of her face catching the light, she almost snarled at it, when a soft, deep voice over her shoulders explained,

"It's Greek from what I can read,"

Quezalcoatal loomed over the shoulder of his breath, as if tipping her over, his iridescent eyes crossed over the parchment, the words etched in persistence and deep intention for its place ment, and he peered at Art, his eyes taking a deeper shadow.

"Do you want to explain it to Shai or will you leave it to me, Artemis?" Quezalcoatla inquired, his eyes sharpened slightly at her. Art smiled at the serpent. A calm chuckle escaped her lips, '

"I wouldn't mind," Art answered, her gaze straightened onto Shai, who tried to stare at her through the shine.

"It's, I prostasia enai diathesimi mono otan yparchei tharros," Art spoke in a brash, deeper tone and accent,

Shai stared, squinting her gold glowing hues, confused, and asked, "I might be rusty, or it's the lack of rest that means what?"

"It means protection is only available when courage is taken," Art admitted. Her smile grew brighter,
