(Tuesday Afternoon)
Sophia's POV:
"I'm sure all of you are already aware as to why I called all of you here today."
"I think it's because it's just less than a month before the foundation day of our school." Shakira guessed.
"Exactly what you said, Shakira. As usual, I will need your help in planning. But this time, it's different, it won't be the usual celebration we're having in the last 3 years. As it will be the 10th foundation day of our school, the principal want something 'new and unforgettable' so we need to think this carefully and plan thoroughly to make the celebration this year the best compared to the last years'."
"Then what about a contest? We're only having games and sports activities on the last foundation days. I think it's interesting if we will have a beauty contest or something this year." Lance proposed.
"That's a nice idea, Lance! I think, rather than a simple beauty contest, it's better to have a contest wherein there are pairs of male and female participants. We can call it 'Mr. and Ms. Glistening of the Year' or something. Shakira, please take note of the things that we will be talking about this meeting. Especially, the plausible ideas of everyone."
"Yes, Sophia."
"What about a Science fair? Science is also enjoyable."
"I am not in favor of that. Science is really complicated and I don't think the students have enough time to make their own inventions within 2 weeks. You should keep in mind that not everyone is as skillful and proficient as you in making inventions Kris. Next recommendation, please."
"It would be nice if we will have a night event. Don't you think so, Sophia?"
"A night event, huh? That sounds good. What are you thinking about, Shakira?"
"What if we have a night dance party? The couples and the students in love will dance under the bright moonlight together with lanterns that illuminates different lights. Isn't it romantic?"
"Hmmm... That's a wonderful idea! It will be very romantic indeed."
"Yeah, exactly! That's what I am thinking about! I'm sure the lovebirds here in our school will also feel jittery because of it. And not just couples, but also friends will have some fun during the dance!" Shakira said excitingly.
"Ok then, we should go with that. Do you still have any recommendations, Kris?"
"Hmmm... Let me think... Then what about a play? Plays are really interesting since we will get to see the students act with all their might. There are even some unnoticeable students that we didn't expect to have an astounding skill in acting. This is a good opportunity for them to show their hidden talents, don't you think so?"
"That's definitely a nice idea! Accepted! Then, it's already my turn. Umm... I'm thinking about stalls. What do all of you think about it?"
"Stalls?" Shakira stopped writing and looked at me with wondering eyes.
"During these past few years of celebration, I noticed that it's really troublesome to have nothing but junk foods or light snacks for the students. As what Lance have said earlier, the activities before are mostly games and sports activities, in short, they are all 'strenuous' activities. But what foods did the canteen sell during those days? They are not healthy and not enough for the students to feel energized after their hard work and struggle for the activities they've participated in. I think it will be nice if there are also some food stalls except for the school canteen.
It would also be good for the students since they will gain new experience and even enhance their abilities in both social and mental skills."
"That's really great, Sophia! If we will think about that idea, it seems simple but at the same time, it's also excellent! We never thought of having food stalls managed by the students before so I can say that is very brilliant! The other students will be selling at the stalls while the other students will be buying at the students' stalls. That's logical!" Kristoffer showered me with praises.
"On top of it, I'm sure that most of the students haven't tried selling before considering that they're rich and always lived a luxurious life. It will surely teach them many things especially the struggles that most people are struggling with everyday. It will make them understand the commoners' life situation. That's an incredible idea, Sophia! It's not only experience that they will gain, but also a life lesson." Lance applauded me.
"But how are you going to divide the students and choose who among the students will be putting up a stall and sell?" Shakira asked.
"That's easy. Our basis will be the vigorous activities."
"Vigorous activities?" The three of them asked in unison.
"Do you mean the games and sports activities that we used to have during the last foundation days?"
"Uh-huh!"
"But didn't the principal say something new? Then why should we still need to stick to the usual ideas?" Shakira added.
"Why not? They're also fun, right? Besides, the principal just mentioned about 'something new', he didn't say particularly about it being partially or fully. There should be no problem if we will retain that idea on the lists of activities to be carried out in the celebration. In addition, our plans for the event are still considered as 'something new' since we added many types of activities."
"You have a point there. So what are you planning?"
"It's simple, Kris. The students will choose whether they like to participate in any games. The students who will sign up for the vigorous activities will naturally participate in the games. Meanwhile, the students who are not interested in those kinds of activities will be assigned to put up their own stalls and think of the food product they're going to sell."
"It's indeed simple. Why didn't I think of that earlier?"
"So are there still any recommendations? If not, I will have the meeting adjourned for now. We'll talk about how we're going to proceed with the preparations next time."
"None."
"Then let's finish the meeting now. I'll have my plans for the preparations ready tomorrow so we'll talk about this again in our next meeting."
"Understood."
