After resting up in the tavern, Skepps and I head down to get some grog and food. Out of the corner of my eye I notice something odd, there is a mysterious stranger standing next to a podium, and on that podium there is a book. I stand up to talk to him while skepps eats his chicken.
I ask the man about the book, and he tells me a tale about the Shores of Gold. A land covered by the devils shroud, as well as the only way to break through the it. The shroud breaker, a small strange totem with 3 red jewels on it. He motions me to take the book and see if I can venture out to find the shroud breaker, and break through to the shores of gold.
Skepps has finished eating his food, as well as mine, so we head over to the dock to prepare the ship to find the shroud breaker. I begin reading the book that the mysterious stranger gave me, the book talks about another pirates journey to retrieve the shroud breaker.
The book has pages about the ship that dropped the Chiat overboard to escape skeletons and to find the chest later, and the location of the chest is in the ships logs. The book reveals the location of the sunken ship, near an uncharted island in between The Crooked Masts and Crooks Hollow.
After gathering some supplies, we set sail towards the uncharted island mentioned in the book. We pass time while sailing to play some shanty's, our favorites being Grog Mayles, and The Summoning. We are out in open waters, when I hear a spine chilling roar behind the ship. Then I spot it, the giant blue fin poking out of the ocean that strikes fear in the heart of many pirates, a Megalodon. A beast risen from the depths by the devil, one of many other Megalodon types, this one was the weakest.
When I laid eyes on the beast my excitement grew. I anchored the ship and loaded the cannons. Skepps grabbed his rifle and flintlock while grabbed my rifle and blunderbuss. The overgrown shark was pelted by bullets from Skepps and cannon fire from me. The Megalodon was getting damaged and hurt by our weapons, however it began swimming towards our ship. Bracing for impact, the Megalodon opened its gaping maw to engulf the skip.
We braced for impact as the Megalodon created many holes in the bottom of the ship with its bite. Skepps went down to repair it while I got back on the cannon and fired ball after ball at the giant shark.
After a few more hours of battle, we were able to slay the Megalodon. As a being created by the devil, it consumes anything it can get it's mouth on, including skeleton ships. The overgrown fish dissolved into salt leaving only the things in its stomach from other ships and crews.
We collect a bounty of skeleton captains skulls, skeleton captains chests, and lastly some crates of rare tea, precious gemstones, and fine silks. A hefty bounty from the shark.
After patching all the holes and bailing out the water, we continued our journey to find the shroud breaker.
